Chapter 21: The Escape (Part Three)
"Take a rest for now; we'll leave early tomorrow," Mo Yu said, and then exited with awkward steps, arms and legs moving in sync.
Lingzi and Li Jun exchanged glances, unsure what had gotten into Mo Yu, while Qing Xuan was elated.
Alone at last! Alone!
Mo Yu felt both shy and frustrated. Even when encountering zombies, she hadn't used her gun. She swiftly drew her machete, thrusting forward, blocking horizontally, then lifting upward. A round head tumbled off and rolled away.
Mo Yu slipped into another empty room, unable to endure the damp, fetid air, and then darted into her inner space. She swam for a while in the sea, effectively bathing, her whole body refreshed. Even Qing Xuan relaxed, hanging from Mo Yu's neck, drifting along with the current.
Now was the moment!
Mo Yu yanked down the relaxed Qing Xuan, storming toward the last room. Qing Xuan's eyes gleamed as he fixed his gaze on the drenched Mo Yu, his body heating up, twining around Mo Yu's arm in search of coolness.
Mo Yu rammed hard into the door, collapsing onto the elastic floor that felt like pudding.
She ripped the dazed Qing Xuan off her, tossing him to the other side of the room, and turned to leave.
Only then did Qing Xuan realize what was happening. He scrambled after Mo Yu in panic. Is my master abandoning me? Is she leaving me behind? In his distress, he didn't notice he had transformed!
"Master!" The word escaped his lips, and both paused in shock. Mo Yu instinctively turned.
What... what was this?! Mo Yu stared dumbly at the handsome young man before her...
Legs stretching from abdomen down...
...
Her gaze slowly traveled upward—a refined young man. Before she could get a good look, he stretched out a leg and kicked her out...
Mo Yu landed on the hotel floor, mechanically rubbing the spot where she’d been kicked.
Sob... what was that?!
...
When Mo Yu finally came to herself, dawn had arrived. She shuffled out of the room, not noticing the zombies clawing behind her.
Bang—
The hapless zombie was half-crushed by the door.
Awakened by the sound, the other two quickly assumed defensive positions, then relaxed when they saw Mo Yu.
"What... happened to you?" Mo Yu was never this careless.
Ten minutes later...
"Huh? I'm fine."
"Big sister Mo, where’s the little snake?"
"Ah! Lost! No, dead! No, turned into a person! No, not that either!" Mo Yu frantically tugged at her hair, shaking her head. Her reaction was intense this time. She felt even her rebirth hadn't shocked her so much. The snake that had always been so intimate with her was actually a person! And a man, no less! Oh my god!
Nan Lingzi and Li Jun watched Mo Yu, occasionally twitching their lips. After a long while, Mo Yu calmed down and said serenely, "Alright, let's set out!"
Her companions nearly fainted at her sudden composure.
Meanwhile, Qing Xuan inside the space was banging his head against the "wall."
How could this happen! How could this happen! How could it be like this?!
At that moment, a dozen furtive figures slipped into the underground garage.
"Brother Biao, look! A car!" One of the underlings spotted Mo Yu’s vehicle.
Li De signaled the man.
Swish—The excited man’s head flew off like a soccer ball.
"Zhao Wei, what the hell are you doing?!" Qian Yi, who reacted first, staggered back and shouted, "If you've got guts, hack yourself—"
Sadly, his accusation wasn't finished before Zhao Wei killed him too. Brother Biao’s group defensively drew their knives, holding them before their chests.
Brother Biao looked at his si
