He wants her to take responsibility.
Lu Yichen had fallen into the water!
The Lu family villa was thrown into chaos. The servants, flustered and scrambling, rushed to pull him out, administered first aid, and, terrified of possible aftereffects that no one could bear responsibility for, hurried him off to the hospital.
No one paid any attention to Xia Yuwei. She watched as Lu Yichen was revived from unconsciousness, then quietly made her way home.
On her way back, she encountered a frightening harassment incident... Fortunately, she emerged unscathed, though she did lose one of the two platinum and gemstone bracelets shaped like roses—custom-made birthday gifts from her father and mother. Aside from that, she made it home safely and burst into tears in front of her parents, crying herself to sleep at last...

St. De Hospital.
“They’ve still decided not to come back, haven’t they!” Lu Yichen stared coldly at the butler, Lin Boyang, after he finished the call with his parents, who were far away in Europe.
“The master and madam are very busy…”
Before Lin Boyang could finish, Lu Yichen jumped up, snatched the phone, and hurled it to the floor. Still not satisfied, he tore out the cord and stomped on it repeatedly.
“Let them go be busy with their own affairs!” Lu Yichen shouted, stamping his feet furiously.
Finally, he fell silent, but it was an eerie, unsettling quiet that made the butler uneasy. Sure enough, Lu Yichen spoke again—
“That old woman who delivered the cake, I’m lying in the hospital almost dying. She should take responsibility!”
“Did you hear me? Go now! I want her here right now!” Lu Yichen yelled at Lin Boyang, his tone belligerent.
“But, young master, it’s so late now. Her shop must be closed. I can’t find her. Tomorrow, perhaps? Tomorrow?” Lin Boyang tried helplessly to reason with Lu Yichen.
Naturally, this only resulted in more tantrums and destruction from Lu Yichen. Rubbing his forehead, Lin Boyang left quietly. In his eyes, Lu Yichen was nothing more than a willful, unreasonable, and ill-mannered child. His care was purely a matter of duty, never affection.
Before leaving, Lin Boyang only reminded the private nurse to look after Lu Yichen.
At night, moonlight spilled through the window onto Lu Yichen’s small face.
It was streaked with the unmistakable traces of tears.
Mommy, Daddy, do you not love me?
Why is there no one in this world who loves me?
Am I really a child that no one cherishes, no one cares for?
Why does everyone who sees me act as though they’ve seen something dreadful and avoid me?
…
“…After you eat this, you’ll feel very happy. Your mood will soon brighten…”
A dazzling, radiant smile slowly surfaced in his mind, only to blur and fade away.
Lu Yichen reached out his tiny hand, grasping at the air, as if trying to catch hold of something… But his hand closed on nothing at all.
