Pang Jiahui grinned, turning to address the students of Class Six, Grade Three: “What are you all standing there for? Hurry up and thank Teacher Gao. Tonight’s celebration for your victory—that’s all on her!”
Led by He Juan, the students of Class Six, Grade Three shouted in unison, “Thank you, Teacher Gao!” Then erupted into uncontrollable laughter.
The match hadn’t even begun, yet from top to bottom, Class Six, Grade Three was certain of their victory!
To Class Three, Grade One, this attitude was blatant, unabashed contempt!
The whistle blew—sharp and clear—the match officially began!
From the very first second, under He Juan’s leadership, Class Six, Grade Three launched a fierce offensive! Their main target: Lin Siyu, whose ankle had previously been injured.
“Shameless! Absolutely shameless!” Witnessing this, Zeng Yi, sitting on the bench, could no longer hold back and jumped up, cursing loudly.
On the adjacent bench, Pang Jiahui raised an eyebrow and said, “Shameless? Ha! This is called strategy! We can’t be expected to avoid Lin Siyu just because she’s injured, can we? If every class sent a team of injured players, would we have to surrender without a fight?”
He then glanced at Gao Zixi. “Teacher Gao, look at your student... Ah, I wonder how you teach them.”
“How I teach my students is none of your concern!” Gao Zixi replied coldly. She turned away from Pang Jiahui, her worry shifting to Lin Siyu’s condition. “Lin Siyu only sprained her ankle a few days ago and hasn’t fully recovered—how can she be playing? This is nonsense! Quick! Someone get her off the court!”
Li Sicheng stepped in to stop her. “Teacher Gao, don’t worry. Lin Siyu’s ankle will be fine.”
Gao Zixi was taken aback. “Why are you so sure?”
Li Sicheng replied, “Because I performed acupuncture on Lin Siyu’s ankle in the classroom just now.”
“Acupuncture? You know acupuncture?” Gao Zixi’s mouth dropped open in astonishment.

Li Sicheng nodded. “I know a thing or two.”
But Gao Zixi’s worry did not ease. She frowned and continued, “Even if you know acupuncture, you couldn’t possibly have cured Lin Siyu’s ankle with just a few needles, could you? As the saying goes, a muscle or bone injury takes a hundred days to heal...”
Li Sicheng, unwilling to explain further, simply pointed towards the court. “Teacher Gao, look at Lin Siyu now. Does she look like someone with an injured ankle?”
Only now, reminded by Li Sicheng, did Gao Zixi notice: on the court, Lin Siyu was jumping, diving, running—every move precise and textbook-perfect. She showed none of the signs one would expect from someone nursing an injury!
“How is this possible...” Gao Zixi gaped in disbelief.
The students of Class Six, Grade Three were equally stunned by Lin Siyu’s performance.
“Wasn’t Lin Siyu supposed to have a sprained ankle? She doesn’t look injured at all.”
“What’s going on? Was her injury just a rumor?”
The players of Class Six, Grade Three, bewildered, glanced at He Juan, seeking guidance: should they continue to target Lin Siyu, or change strategy and attack elsewhere?
“Continue!” He Juan, without the slightest hesitation, ordered coldly, “Injured or not, we focus on her! Once she’s taken down, Class Three, Grade One’s morale will collapse. Then, we can win by as many points as we want!”
In He Juan’s eyes, it wasn’t enough to crush Class Three, Grade One—she wanted Lin Siyu and Tan Xiaoxiao utterly humiliated in front of everyone. The plan to relentlessly target Lin Siyu would not change.
Class Six, Grade Three was a formidable team. Under their relentless attacks, Lin Siyu’s stamina drained quickly. Even with a healthy ankle, she began to falter.
Seeing this, Tan Xiaoxiao and the rest of her teammates tried to close ranks and share the burden, but whenever they clustered near Lin Siyu, Class Six, Grade Three would immediately switch tactics and exploit the open spaces, racking up several points in just a few minutes.
In such circumstances, Class Three, Grade One began to lose their composure.
If they left Lin Siyu to fend for herself, the opposing attack would overwhelm her. No matter how capable she was, she couldn’t withstand it alone. But if they rushed to help, they left their own positions vulnerable, creating opportunities for the opposition...
Their formation and play became increasingly chaotic.
In the end, Class Three, Grade One lost the first set by a staggering 10:25.

After a brief rest, the second set began. Despite some tactical adjustments, the situation for Class Three, Grade One did not improve. The fact was, Class Six, Grade Three was simply stronger overall, and with Lin Siyu—their main scorer—constantly suppressed, they struggled even to defend, let alone counterattack.
The second set ended even more quickly than the first, the score gap even wider.
This time, Class Three, Grade One scored only eight points—not even reaching double digits...
The third set was crucial. If Class Three, Grade One lost again, they would be defeated 0:3 in this match.
During the break, morale among Class Three, Grade One was at rock bottom. The fighting spirit they’d shown before the game had completely vanished.
Everyone sat with heads bowed, desperately searching for a solution. But no matter how hard they thought, they simply couldn’t find a way out.
At that moment, He Juan strode over, head held high, looking down on them like a victor surveying the vanquished. “I told you I’d crush you, and I will. Next set, I won’t even let you score five points!”
Pang Jiahui also approached, chuckling. “Teacher Gao, this kid is a bit blunt—don’t take it personally... Oh, and you’d better get your month’s salary ready. As soon as the next set’s over, hand it to me so I can treat them to a victory celebration.”
Upon seeing and hearing these two, both Gao Zixi and the students of Class Three, Grade One—Lin Siyu, Tan Xiaoxiao, and the rest—were seething with anger.
Tan Xiaoxiao, who had been resting on the bench, shot to her feet, ready to explode at the master-and-apprentice duo and their mocking performance.
But just then, someone suddenly stepped in front of her.
Tan Xiaoxiao was about to push this person aside, when she heard him speak: “Teacher Pang, would you be interested in making a bet with me as well?”
At those words, everyone froze.
Only then did Tan Xiaoxiao realize who stood before her.
It was none other than Li Sicheng.
