After the girls’ volleyball team had left, Li Sicheng turned around and headed back to his seat.

He had barely taken a few steps when Zeng Yi caught him by the arm. “Cheng, what are you still doing in the classroom? Let’s go cheer them on! This time, we’re not only going to beat Class Six, Grade Three on the court—we’re going to outshine them in support, too!”

“That’s right! We’ll show them what we’re made of! Let’s make them lose even their underwear!” a few boys nearby chimed in with one voice.

Then, from their desks, they pulled out an array of cheering props they’d prepared in advance: little flags reading “Victory to Class Three, Grade One,” vuvuzelas like those that stole the show at the South African World Cup, and more. The most outrageous was when someone dragged out a sizable drum from the audio-visual equipment cabinet. Its booming thud was enough to make ears ring. Several boys surrounded it, fumbling together as they hoisted it up and marched off toward the gym to support their team.

“Where on earth did you all get this stuff…” Li Sicheng was genuinely astonished.

He couldn’t help but wonder: was this really an ordinary intramural school match, or was it a professional league? These props for cheering were absolutely professional grade!

“How about it? Got everything we need, right? Here, take this big vuvuzela. If shouting isn’t enough for you later, just blow this with all you’ve got—the sound will carry, I promise!” Zeng Yi boasted as he thrust a vuvuzela into Li Sicheng’s hands and pulled him along to the gym.

When Li Sicheng stepped inside, he was taken aback— the spacious gymnasium was packed, every seat filled!

On the stands, besides the students from Class Three, Grade One and Class Six, Grade Three, there were plenty of others from different classes who’d come to scout out the competition or simply to enjoy the spectacle.

Over the past few days, the bold claims made by Class Six, Grade Three about “crushing their opponents” had spread throughout Nanshan High. It seemed only Li Sicheng himself was unaware of the commotion.

Everyone was looking forward to today’s match. They all wanted to see whether Class Six, Grade Three would fulfill their promise of a landslide victory, or if Class Three, Grade One could pull off a desperate comeback and create a miracle against overwhelming odds.

Because of this, the game had attracted widespread attention, and many students with nothing to do on the weekend had flocked back to school to watch.

Besides the students, the stands were dotted with many adults—parents and relatives of the players. As it was Saturday, the parents on break had invited friends, uncles, and aunts to come and cheer for their children.

“So many people!” Li Sicheng exclaimed in awe.

Zeng Yi grinned, “Of course! This is the highlight match today—how could the seats not be full?”

Li Sicheng nodded and was about to follow Zeng Yi to look for empty seats when he suddenly noticed that Lin Siyu hadn’t gone to the changing room to put on her uniform. Instead, she stood by the court, scanning the stands as if searching for someone.

After a moment’s searching, disappointment clouded her face. With her head down, she walked toward the locker room.

It was clear she hadn’t found the person she was looking for.

Others might not know who Lin Siyu was searching for, but Li Sicheng had a pretty good guess.

He patted Zeng Yi’s shoulder. “I’ll be right back. If you find seats, save one for me.” With that, he turned and left the gym, took out his phone, and dialed Lin Muxue’s number, asking bluntly, “Where are you?”

There was a slight pause on the other end before Lin Muxue replied, “Huh? I’m at the company, why?”

Li Sicheng didn’t answer directly. “Do you know your sister has a volleyball match today?”

“Of course I know,” Lin Muxue replied, puzzled. “But hasn’t her foot not fully healed? She wasn’t supposed to play yet, right?”

Li Sicheng responded, “I did a bit of acupuncture on her ankle—she’s good to play now. If you come in person to cheer her on, I’m sure she’ll be thrilled.”

Lin Muxue sounded regretful. “I might not make it. I have a video conference coming up…”

Before she could finish, Li Sicheng cut her off. “No matter how important a meeting is, can it be more important than family? Remember, you only have one sister, one relative like this!”

There was silence on the other end.

After a few minutes, Lin Muxue finally spoke. “You’re right. Work is never as important as family. I’m on my way!”

She hung up, immediately called her secretary in to reschedule the meeting, and rushed out of the office building to head to Nanshan High.

Meanwhile, Li Sicheng returned to the gym after making his call.

Before he could find Zeng Yi, he was grabbed by Tan Xiaoxiao, already changed into her uniform. “Don’t go to the stands—come sit on the bench by the court with me.”

Li Sicheng was dumbfounded. “Huh? The bench? Xiaoxiao, you must be mistaken—I’m a guy!”

She rolled her eyes. “I’m not blind, I know you’re a guy!” she replied impatiently. “But I don’t feel at ease about Siyu. If you’re on the bench with me and anything happens to her, you can take care of it right away.”

“Don’t worry, Xiaoxiao. My acupuncture is top-notch. Lin Siyu’s foot will be just fine during the game,” Li Sicheng replied confidently.

Unfortunately, Tan Xiaoxiao wasn’t convinced.

“Enough talk—come with me, now!” She arched her eyebrow, eyes flashing, and dragged Li Sicheng toward the bench with queenly authority.

Zeng Yi suddenly appeared from somewhere, grinning. “Hey, take me with you! I can be Cheng’s assistant!”

Watching the game from the bench was so much better than from the stands—how could Zeng Yi pass up such a chance?

After giving him a quick once-over, Tan Xiaoxiao nodded. “Fine, but don’t cause any trouble, or I’ll have you neutered in a heartbeat!”

Zeng Yi instinctively covered his crotch, looking both terrified and embarrassed.

Li Sicheng could only shake his head and sigh inwardly: “Such a beautiful girl—why does she have to be such a tomboy? And where on earth did she learn to talk like that?”
