Chapter 79: Misunderstanding
Li Sicheng raised an eyebrow and asked, “Since you heard what I said, why are you still asking what I’m doing?”
Lin Siyu was at a loss for words, unable to think of a response.
Fortunately, Li Sicheng didn’t press her. Seeing her stammer and unable to answer, he simply shook his head and let it go, not pursuing the matter further.
Lin Siyu secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
But soon, she found herself blushing and her heart racing once again.
Li Sicheng’s hand was gently kneading her ankle.
A woman’s ankle was always a sensitive spot.
Although Li Sicheng had touched her foot before, that was in the infirmary, with only the school nurse besides them. It didn’t matter; they weren’t familiar. But now, it was different—there were over a dozen pairs of eyes watching, all classmates she saw every day.
Lin Siyu instinctively glanced at Tan Xiaoxiao, who stood nearby, only to see her best friend grinning mischievously.
“It’s over, it’s over—she must have misunderstood the relationship between me and that liar. She’s notorious for her big mouth. Soon enough, rumors about me and that liar will spread everywhere…” Lin Siyu, knowing Tan Xiaoxiao’s ways, felt both embarrassed and anxious, hurriedly trying to pull her foot back.
“Don’t move!” Li Sicheng looked up and scolded her.
Lin Siyu wanted to retort, but for some reason, when she saw Li Sicheng’s stern expression, the words that reached her lips were swallowed, and she meekly replied, “Okay…”
Tan Xiaoxiao couldn’t help herself and burst out laughing.
In her memory, Lin Siyu always maintained an aloof attitude toward boys, never behaving as timidly as she did now, like a bashful bride.
It seemed true that every pot finds its lid—someone always has their match.
After a quick examination of Lin Siyu’s ankle, Li Sicheng took out a tube of silver needles from his small shoulder bag.
“What’s that?” Tan Xiaoxiao leaned in, curious.
She had never experienced acupuncture before and naturally didn’t recognize the silver needles.
“Silver needles,” Li Sicheng replied. “They’re used for acupuncture.”
Tan Xiaoxiao said in surprise, “Seriously? You actually know how to do acupuncture? Wait, do you always carry a tube of silver needles on you, just in case?”
Li Sicheng shook his head. “I’ve studied a bit, nothing too advanced, but it’s enough for situations like this. As for these silver needles, I just bought them a couple of days ago.”
A couple of days ago?
Hearing this, Lin Siyu’s eyes suddenly lit up.
She clearly remembered that when she twisted her ankle during PE class a few days ago, Li Sicheng didn’t have any silver needles.
“Could it be that he bought these silver needles especially for me? Hmph… I refuse to acknowledge his kindness.” Lin Siyu thought pridefully, but the joy on her face was impossible to hide.
“Those two definitely have something going on—my little test proved it!” Tan Xiaoxiao glanced at Lin Siyu, then at Li Sicheng, congratulating herself on her cleverness.
Li Sicheng had no idea what the two girls were thinking. All his attention was focused on the acupuncture.
He swiftly took out the silver needles and inserted them into several points on Lin Siyu’s ankle—Kunlun, Qiuxu, Xuanzhong, and others.
“Ah—”
Like Tan Xiaoxiao, Lin Siyu had never undergone acupuncture before. Lost in her thoughts and unprepared, the moment the needles pierced her acupoints, her ankle was flooded with a sensation of soreness, numbness, and swelling, making her cry out.
“What’s wrong? Is it very painful?” Li Sicheng paused his movements and raised his head to ask.
Lin Siyu whimpered and replied, “It’s not terribly painful, just a bit swollen and sore…”
Li Sicheng asked, “Can you handle it? If not, I can stop for a while and continue later.”
Lin Siyu bit her lip and nodded firmly. “I… I can handle it. Please continue.”
Without further words, Li Sicheng resumed his focus.
Lin Siyu could bear it, but outside the classroom, Zeng Yi and a few other boys were finding it hard to endure.
Today’s quarterfinal match was tied to the class’s collective honor, so many students from Class Three, Grade One, had come to school of their own accord, including Zeng Yi and his group of friends.
Earlier, Zeng Yi and the boys were in the gym preparing for the cheerleading squad. With the match approaching and none of the girls’ volleyball team showing up, they left the gym and ran to the classroom to see what was happening. Before even reaching the classroom, they heard Lin Siyu’s soft cries from the corridor.
Those inside the classroom, having witnessed Li Sicheng performing acupuncture on Lin Siyu, thought nothing of her cries. But the boys standing in the corridor, hearing such enticing sounds, found their hearts racing and bodies heating up.
Especially with the dialogue between the two:
Does it hurt… Should I stop… Feels swollen… Can you bear it…
Each phrase sparked wild imaginations among the adolescent boys.
“So, what’s really going on in there?” one boy slowed his steps, blushing, and asked.
He felt nervous and uncertain, unsure whether to go in or retreat.
If he went in and someone was “doing something,” he’d be ruining their moment.
But if he left, he felt reluctant. At their age, curiosity was at its peak. Previously, they’d only watched Japanese “tutorials” in secret on their computers—never had they witnessed a live performance, which would be so much more thrilling.
In fact, every boy in the corridor was thinking the same thing.
“How about this—we crouch down and sneak over to the window to take a look inside, then decide what to do next?” Zeng Yi, breathing heavily, suggested.
“Yes, yes, let’s do that!” The group of boys nodded in agreement.
Then, like thieves, they carefully and quietly moved toward the window of Class Three’s classroom.
Each of their breaths and heartbeats quickened to the extreme…
