The placement of a mirror could actually trigger neurasthenia, and even drive someone to the brink of suicide?
How utterly unbelievable! Are we sure this isn’t just nonsense?
Mo Ke, Liu Wei, and the others exchanged glances, each seeing doubt reflected in the eyes of her companions. Without question, had anyone but Li Sicheng said this, they would already have laughed and scoffed at it.
Li Sicheng noticed their skepticism and asked, “What’s wrong, you don’t believe me?”
The girls of Dorm 415 looked at each other, saying nothing.
They didn’t know how to answer.
Truth be told, they didn’t believe him.
It was only a mirror—how could it possibly cause such trouble? What did he think it was, some cursed magic mirror? Ridiculous!
Yet they hesitated to voice their disbelief. After all, Li Sicheng had just risked his life to save Liu Wei. Even if he now spoke words that seemed absurd, his intentions were good. To say outright that they didn’t believe him might wound his feelings.
While Mo Ke, Liu Wei, and the others wrestled with their doubts, Li Sicheng himself was unbothered.
From their expressions and demeanor, he easily guessed their thoughts. He offered no further explanation, only shrugging. “Believe it or not, it’s up to you. I’ve said all there is to say.”
With that, he put on his jacket and turned to leave.
“I believe you.”
Before Li Sicheng reached the door, Liu Wei stood up and moved the mirror from the foot of her bed.
Since her brush with death, Liu Wei’s trust in Li Sicheng had soared. Moreover, he had accurately described her recent symptoms.
Though attributing neurasthenia and suicidal impulses to the positioning of a mirror sounded thoroughly unscientific, there were many things in this world that defied explanation. So Liu Wei decided it was better to err on the side of caution—she truly didn’t wish to suffer any more misfortune.
Besides, what Li Sicheng asked was not difficult. All she needed to do was move the mirror; it was no trouble at all.
Li Sicheng didn’t look back, but called out another reminder: “If you have time, buy a potted plant to place at the foot of your bed. Any plant will do, but whatever you do, don’t buy peach blossoms.”
“Alright, I’ll go buy one later,” Liu Wei agreed without hesitation.
Then, unable to suppress her curiosity, she asked, “Why not peach blossoms?”

Li Sicheng paused, turned, and replied, “I want you to place a plant at your bed’s foot so it can absorb excess yin energy from your body, and its earth and wood energy can nourish you and restore your health. If you choose peach blossoms, the nourishing effect won’t be diminished, but there will be another side effect.”
“Isn’t an extra effect a good thing?” Liu Wei’s curiosity grew stronger.
“Rotten luck with love—is that something you want?” Li Sicheng laughed, shook his head, and left Dorm 415, soon exiting the girls’ dormitory. The girls remained behind, exchanging bewildered glances.
After a long moment, someone whispered, “Does Li really know feng shui? Ah, we should have asked him how to attract romantic luck…”
Li Sicheng had no idea what the girls were discussing behind his back, nor did he care.
After leaving the dormitory, he didn’t go elsewhere, but headed straight for the classroom of Grade One, Class Three.
For most students, the classroom was a place to avoid if possible; any free time was spent playing outside. If not on the athletic field or among the trees, even horsing around in the corridor was preferable.
Li Sicheng was different—he wished he could spend all twenty-four hours in the classroom.
Why? Simple: the feng shui of Grade One, Class Three’s classroom was excellent.
Had Lin Muxue’s residence not possessed similarly good feng shui, Li Sicheng might have schemed to live in the classroom itself. Luckily, the rest of Nanshan High also had decent feng shui. Otherwise, he would have refused to leave the classroom for meals or even the restroom…
The girls’ dormitory was not far from the Grade One, Class Three building—just a few hundred meters—but Li Sicheng’s walk was awkward.
Along the way, people pointed and whispered about him.
He felt embarrassed and confused, rubbing his face and muttering, “What’s going on? Did I get something dirty on my face? No…”
Just then, three girls who had been pointing at him gathered their courage and approached. One asked cautiously, “Are you Li?”
“Yes, I am. How did you know?” Li Sicheng was taken aback.
What was this? Had he met a fellow practitioner? Was this girl versed in feng shui and fortune-telling?
His confirmation delighted the girls, who shrieked with excitement:
“Wow, it really is Li!”
“I can’t believe we got to meet him in person so soon!”
“He’s even more handsome than he looks in the videos!”

Now Li Sicheng was even more bewildered.
‘In person?’ What did that mean—had he previously been dead? Well, truth be told, he had been a ‘living dead’… But what about the videos?
His confusion didn’t last long.
The girl who had spoken first pulled out a pen and notebook, her voice trembling with excitement. “Li, we saw the video online of you risking your life to save someone at the girls’ dorm. You were so brave, so cool, so amazing! Um… could you sign your name for me?”
Understanding at last, Li Sicheng realized how they knew him.
So someone had uploaded the video of his rescue of Liu Wei to the internet.
Faced with their earnest request, Li Sicheng could hardly refuse. He took the pen and notebook and signed his name.
“What beautiful handwriting!”
The girl exclaimed again as she saw his signature.
She wasn’t versed in calligraphy, but she knew quality when she saw it. Li Sicheng’s characters, bold and flowing, radiated a graceful energy that anyone would praise as ‘good handwriting’.
“I want a signature too!”
“And me! I forgot my notebook, but it’s fine—Li, just sign my shirt! Oh, by the way, do you have a girlfriend? What kind of girl do you like? What do you think of me?”
The other two girls chimed in, clamoring for autographs. Their excitement drew over other students, boys and girls alike, who had seen the video and now admired Li Sicheng.
Soon, Li Sicheng was surrounded by people seeking autographs and photos.
Such a scene sparked curiosity among those unaware of the situation, many asking which celebrity had come to Nanshan High…
It could be said that Li Sicheng was now thoroughly famous at Nanshan High!
