Chapter 26: Why Are You in the Ladies' Room?
Li Sicheng probably never imagined, not even in his dreams, that a simple trip to the restroom would lead him into someone’s trap.
He hurried to the restroom door, desperate to relieve himself, and paid no attention to the sign hanging there—a little figure in a skirt.
Only after entering did he sense something was off. “Strange, why are there no urinals in here?” he wondered. Still, he didn’t think much of it, assuming that the teachers’ office building had fewer restroom users and that the design was meant to be economical. He strode into one of the stalls, closed the door, unzipped, and enjoyed the relief.
Meanwhile, Lin Siyu and Tan Xiaoxiao had followed him to the restroom. They didn’t enter; instead, from a nearby corner, they quietly pulled out their phones, preparing to take photos and videos.
Their purpose was clear: they wanted to capture Li Sicheng making a fool of himself, upload the footage online, and utterly destroy his reputation. But they were careful not to let Li Sicheng discover their involvement.
It wasn’t Li Sicheng they feared—it was Lin Muxue.
In their eyes, Li Sicheng, the big liar, must have bewitched Lin Muxue with some mysterious potion, leaving her utterly enthralled. If Lin Muxue ever learned that they had devised a prank against Li Sicheng at school, she would be furious, and the two of them would surely face dire consequences.
So, hiding was essential. They wouldn’t let Li Sicheng see them, and even planned to use a new account to post the photos and videos, distancing themselves entirely from the incident.
If questioned, they could adamantly deny involvement.
Lin Siyu clutched her phone tightly, cautiously peeking toward the restroom, and whispered, “Xiaoxiao, is anyone in there? If it’s empty, all our excitement was for nothing.”
Tan Xiaoxiao grinned and spoke with mock secrecy, “Relax. I saw someone go in earlier, and it’s someone we know.”
“Someone we know? Who? Tell me!” Lin Siyu’s curiosity was piqued.
Tan Xiaoxiao leaned in, whispering a name into Lin Siyu’s ear.
Lin Siyu’s mouth dropped open in amazement. “What? She’s in there? That big liar is absolutely doomed!”
“He’s finished, no doubt! If he isn’t, you can call me by my name backwards!” Tan Xiaoxiao was full of confidence, convinced that Li Sicheng was about to suffer.
Lin Siyu laughed and teased, “Backwards? Xiaoxiao Tan? That doesn’t sound right at all…”
“Not right? Maybe call me Tan Crycry? Hey… wait, why are you already saying my name backwards? Oh, you’re teasing me!” Tan Xiaoxiao realized, finally catching on, and, annoyed, reached her mischievous hands into Lin Siyu’s clothes once more.
The two close friends giggled and played together.
Inside the restroom, Li Sicheng remained oblivious to the danger he was in.
After finishing, he flushed and turned to leave.
Suddenly, a voice called out from the next stall: “Who’s in the stall next to me? Can you help me up?”
Hearing this, Li Sicheng’s expression changed instantly.
“How… how is that a woman’s voice?”
His shock made him miss how familiar and weak the voice sounded.
“A woman’s voice in the men’s restroom? Wait, did I… did I accidentally walk into the women’s restroom?”
Recalling the absence of urinals, Li Sicheng thought this was highly likely.
“No, I have to get out now! If someone sees me, they’ll think I’m a pervert or a creep! At that point, no matter how I explain, no one will believe me!” With this thought, Li Sicheng didn’t hesitate and was about to run.
The voice from the next stall sounded again: “It hurts… I can’t take it anymore, please help…”
This time, the words were accompanied by a dull thud, as if someone had collapsed to the floor.
Li Sicheng paused.
Could something serious have happened?
Turning a blind eye was not his style. Besides, doing good deeds always benefited his health and his fate.
“Saving a life comes first—even if they think I’m a pervert, I’ll accept it!”
Driven by urgency, he no longer cared about being misunderstood. He immediately turned and went outside the stall, knocking twice on the wooden door and, disguising his voice, asked, “Are you okay in there?”
His attempt at a female voice sounded nothing like a woman; instead, it resembled the croaky tone of a eunuch from a period drama.
After knocking several times, there was no response.
Remembering the thud, Li Sicheng guessed, “Could she have fainted in the restroom?”
He pushed hard against the door—it was locked from inside and wouldn’t budge. He considered kicking it open, but worried about hurting whoever was inside. Thinking quickly, he found another solution—
Climbing over!
The stall wasn’t tall, so getting in was not difficult. He took a deep breath, jumped, grabbed the top, pushed himself up, and with a few nimble moves, climbed into the stall.
Sure enough, a woman was lying unconscious on the floor.
“Isn’t that Teacher Gao?”
Recognizing her face, Li Sicheng couldn’t help but gasp quietly.
The person collapsed in the restroom was none other than Gao Zixi, the homeroom teacher of Grade One, Class Three.
No wonder Tan Xiaoxiao had said there was a familiar face inside.
At this moment, Gao Zixi lay on the ground, her face pale, eyes closed, and consciousness lost. A trickle of blood ran down her thigh, staining her black stockings red.
One glance was enough for Li Sicheng to understand: “This is a hemorrhage combined with fainting from menstrual pain? Strange—looking at Teacher Gao’s features, she doesn’t seem prone to this.”
“Sigh, there I go again, getting caught up in my professional habits. Now isn’t the time to analyze her face—I need to wake her up!”
He quickly crouched down, pinched the acupoint beneath Gao Zixi’s nose, and placed his other hand on her lower abdomen, massaging in a steady rhythm.
After a few moments, color returned to Gao Zixi’s cheeks.
She opened her eyes.
“Li Sicheng? Why… why are you in the women’s restroom?!”
