Chapter 2: The Ice-Queen CEO
Aside from Li Sicheng, who remained indifferent, the cabin was in chaos. Amid Lei Shao’s wails and his companion’s screams, a flight attendant rushed over with a first aid kit and quickly bandaged Lei Shao’s wounds.
Originally, the attendant intended for Lei Shao to disembark and seek further treatment at the airport hospital. However, Lei Shao stubbornly refused, insisting on taking this flight. In the end, the attendant had no choice but to comply with his wishes.
Throughout the bandaging, Lei Shao kept stealing glances at Li Sicheng. “It must be this kid’s doing! Otherwise, how could he have known in advance that something bloody would happen?” The more Lei Shao thought about it, the more convinced he became that the blow to his head was Li Sicheng’s fault, and he burned with the urge to take revenge.
Yet, after hesitating for a moment, he didn’t dare approach Li Sicheng. His face was still swollen, and he lacked the courage to risk another slap. “Hmph, I’ll let you enjoy your arrogance a little longer! Once we reach Yongcheng, my territory, I’ll show you how I deal with you!” Lei Shao glared at Li Sicheng, a ruthless light flashing in his eyes.
He hurried back to his seat—there was no way he’d sit in Li Sicheng’s former spot, lest more misfortune befall him.
Fortunately, the rest of the flight passed without incident.
A little over two hours later, the plane landed steadily at Yongcheng International Airport.
Upon disembarking, Lei Shao dashed toward the exit. From his energetic sprint, no one would guess he was recently injured—his companion was left far behind.
Other passengers assumed Lei Shao was rushing to the hospital for his head injury and made way for him. No one knew his real urgency: he wanted to find the people sent to pick him up before Li Sicheng left the airport, so he could have them deal with Li Sicheng and avenge himself.
Running, Lei Shao cast a resentful glance back at Li Sicheng. “You, Li, just you wait. I’ll make you repay the humiliation I suffered on the plane, twice over! Bloody disaster, is it? Today I’ll show you what a real bloody disaster is!”
Soon, Lei Shao burst out of the airport and spotted the men sent to pick him up.
Three burly men, dressed in suits and sunglasses, stood at the exit, exuding a formidable presence. It was obvious they were no ordinary people. In fact, they were Lei Tiger’s trusted enforcers, specialists in handling problems by unconventional means.
Seeing them, Lei Shao felt hope for his revenge and hurried over, shouting as he ran, “Shanbao, you three came to get me? Perfect! Quick, go rough someone up for me…”
The man in the middle took off his sunglasses and scrutinized Lei Shao with suspicion. “Who are you, pig-head? How do you know me?”
After the two slaps from Li Sicheng, Lei Shao’s face had swollen up—at first, not too seriously. But after two hours in flight, his cheeks had ballooned, and he truly resembled a pig’s head.
It was no wonder Shanbao didn’t recognize him—if Lei Tiger himself were here, he might not identify this swollen-faced son as his own.
“I’m Lei Shao! Don’t you recognize me? Here, this is my ID!” Seeing their lingering doubt, Lei Shao hurriedly produced his identification and showed it to them.
Once his identity was confirmed, all three enforcers were stunned. “Holy hell—it really is Lei Shao! Weren’t you going to the Ocean Sky Banquet? How did you end up like this?”
Lei Shao gritted his teeth. “Don’t ask. I got beaten up on the plane! Worst of all, the guy knew I was Lei Tiger’s son and still hit me!”
Shanbao and the others immediately pledged, “Who would dare act so arrogantly? To hit Lei Shao and disrespect Tiger Bro! Don’t worry, we’ll teach that kid a lesson he won’t forget. He’ll know messing with you is the biggest mistake of his life!”
“Good!” Lei Shao grinned with delight.
Yet the movement tugged at his wounds, making him cry out in pain once again.
Just then, exclamations sounded outside the airport exit.
Lei Shao and his men turned to see a Rolls-Royce Phantom parked curbside, with a Mercedes-Benz business van stationed in front. Several stern-faced women in black suits stepped out of the van and strode swiftly toward the Rolls-Royce. While keeping watch, they respectfully opened the car door.
As the door slowly opened, a pair of flawless legs, as white as jade, extended from inside. Black high heels paired with those pale legs created a stunning visual impact that made everyone nearby, men and women alike, swallow involuntarily.
“What beautiful legs…” Lei Shao was transfixed, not even noticing the drool at the corner of his mouth. “Even if I don’t see her face, those legs alone could entertain me for a month!”
The sight of those breathtaking legs only heightened everyone’s anticipation for their owner’s appearance. Men and women alike stood on tiptoe, eager to see what the woman stepping from the luxury car looked like.
She did not disappoint.
Soon, she emerged from the Rolls-Royce Phantom.
A collective gasp swept through the crowd as everyone caught sight of her face. They were stunned into silence.
She was simply too beautiful!
Compared to her, the glamorous actresses seen on television seemed utterly unremarkable, mere vulgar paint.
Besides her mesmerizing beauty, she exuded an icy, forbidding aura—cold as a mountain glacier. This chill discouraged many from approaching, yet others couldn’t help but fantasize about conquering such a frosty woman.
Lei Shao was not only dazzled but also recognized her identity: “Isn’t that Lin Muxue, the stunning CEO of Meihua Group? Why is she here?” A look of wild delight flashed across his face. “Could it be—she’s here to pick me up?”
Lin Muxue was a legend in Yongcheng’s business world.
At just eighteen, she plunged into commerce and, in a few short years, founded Meihua Group, building it into a leading national enterprise. Its women’s fashion and cosmetics brands swept the country.
Since meeting Lin Muxue at a banquet with his father, Lei Shao had fantasized about advancing his relationship with her. He never expected the opportunity would arrive so soon—and with the ice queen making the first move, no less.
“Looks like my charm is truly irresistible!” he thought, grinning as he approached the icy queen.
Unfortunately, reality proved harsh.
Before he could reach Lin Muxue, her bodyguards intercepted him. Though they were women, their strength was no less than men’s, and Lei Shao, despite his best efforts, couldn’t push past them.
Frustrated, he called out, “Miss Lin, it’s me, Lei Shao! You came to the airport, didn’t you come for me? Tell your bodyguards to let me through…”
“Lei Shao?” Lin Muxue frowned slightly, then shook her head in disgust. “I don’t know him. Get him out of my way.”
Her bodyguards immediately moved, shoving Lei Shao aside.
“Hey, hey, how could you not know me? My father is Lei Tiger—we met at a banquet…” Lei Shao hadn’t expected such an outcome and felt his dignity evaporate. Yet he dared not lose his temper with Lin Muxue; her power rivaled his father’s and she was far beyond his reach.
As he stood there, feeling aggrieved, his companion suddenly pointed. “Lei Shao, look! The one who hurt you is coming out!”
Lei Shao turned to see Li Sicheng emerge, and he growled, “Perfect timing! I need somewhere to vent my anger!” He waved his hand and called to Shanbao and the others, “That’s the kid—go, take care of him for me!”
Clearly, Lei Shao intended to vent his humiliation from Lin Muxue onto Li Sicheng.
But he failed to notice the excitement flashing in Lin Muxue’s eyes as she gazed at Li Sicheng.
