Chapter 105: Is This Kid Really a Student?
Unless you have experienced it yourself, it is hard to fathom the sheer agony Shan Pao was enduring at that moment.
And yet, this pain was merely the beginning.
Because his entire arm had gone numb from the intensity of the pain, he could no longer hold onto the broken beer bottle. It clattered to the floor, shattering into a spray of jagged glass. Li Sichen suddenly stepped forward and delivered a forceful kick to Shan Pao’s shin.
"Argh!" The renewed surge of pain forced a high-pitched, piercing scream from Shan Pao. At the same time, unable to keep his balance, he began to topple forward.
Li Sichen’s left hand remained clamped firmly onto Shan Pao’s Neiguan acupoint, while his right hand shot out, pressing down hard on the back of Shan Pao’s head, forcing his face toward the floor.
*Boom!*
With a sickening, muffled thud that made one’s skin crawl, Shan Pao was slammed face-first into the ground by Li Sichen.
A collective gasp of horror rippled through the room—both from Young Master Lei’s group and the students of Class 3, Grade 1.
They saw clearly that where Shan Pao’s face had landed was exactly where the beer bottle had shattered moments before. The shards of glass were now embedded deep into his skin.
In an instant, Shan Pao’s face was a gruesome, bloody mess, riddled with glass fragments of all sizes. It was terrifying to behold, though, at a glance, he bore a strange resemblance to a prehistoric Stegosaurus.
This time, Shan Pao didn't even have the chance to scream; he passed out instantly from the agony.
Li Sichen released his grip and scanned the remaining thugs standing before him. He narrowed his eyes and asked coldly, "Who’s next?"
The men involuntarily took two steps back, intimidated by the ruthless efficiency Li Sichen had displayed and the chilling murderous intent radiating from his eyes.
"Is this kid really just a student? How can he be this ferocious? Even the hardened thugs on the streets probably aren't this formidable," they thought, their resolve beginning to crumble.
Young Master Lei was terrified by the scene, but he knew there was no turning back. If he couldn't take Li Sichen down, he would be humiliated yet again. He had already lost face on the plane and at the airport, but those incidents had no witnesses he knew. Now, however, his fair-weather friends were watching. If he suffered another defeat in front of them, he would be a laughingstock wherever he went.
A man lives for his reputation just as a tree lives for its bark; Young Master Lei could never allow that to happen.
Panic-stricken, he pointed a trembling finger at Li Sichen and shrieked, "Get him! All of you, get him! Whoever can knock this kid down, I’ll give them ten thousand... no, fifty thousand... no, one hundred thousand! One hundred thousand dollars to whoever takes him down!"
Greed is a powerful motivator.
Upon hearing the promise of such a massive reward, the eyes of the thugs lit up. They barely made that much in a year, and now, a single victory could make them rich.
"Together!"
After a quick glance at each other, the thugs roared in unison and charged at Li Sichen, brandishing their broken beer bottles.
As the saying goes, two fists cannot fight four hands. They intended to overwhelm him with numbers. As for the students behind him? The thugs didn't give them a second thought. They were just a bunch of kids, hardly even grown—what was there to fear? Seeing the students huddled together, they assumed they were merely terrified by the blood.
The thugs moved quickly, closing the distance in a blink, ready to launch a coordinated attack.
Just then, a shout rang out: "Brother Chen, look out!"
As if he had eyes in the back of his head, Li Sichen ducked to the side.
*Whoosh!*
An ornamental vase flew past his head and smashed into the skull of the thug on the far left. The vase shattered upon impact, and the man collapsed backward, a large, purple welt instantly rising on his forehead.
The person who had thrown the vase was none other than Zeng Yi.
Seeing the result of his throw, Zeng Yi blinked in surprise before bursting into laughter. "I was aiming for the guy in the middle, but I missed and hit the one on the side instead... Haha, my luck is just incredible today!"
Tan Xiaoxiao hoisted an ash bucket she had been holding and yelled, "We can’t let Little Li fight alone! Boys and girls, follow me!"
Lin Siyu said nothing, simply grabbing a mop from somewhere and charging into the fray.
Inspired, the rest of the students from Class 3, Grade 1 grabbed whatever improvised weapons they could find and joined the battle, rushing toward the thugs.
"Trying to use numbers against us? Fine! Today, we'll show you what it really means to be outnumbered!"
"Daring to bully our classmates and teacher—today, you bastards are going to pay in blood!"
"Beat them down! Together!"
Faced with the swarm of students, the thugs realized there was no escape and braced themselves for a fight. They tried to use brute force to knock out the leaders, hoping to terrify the rest of the group. However, things didn't go as planned.
Before they could even swing their beer bottles, a barrage of projectiles flew out from the crowd of students—vases, ashtrays, wine glasses, and even a few foul-smelling, discarded rags.
*Bang! Bang! Bang!*
Amidst a flurry of impacts, the thugs were battered mercilessly. Not only were they bloodied, but their weapons were knocked from their hands. One or two of them even had their faces smothered by the pungent rags. The stench was so overwhelming that it forced its way into their nostrils and mouths, making them gag uncontrollably.
In terms of raw effectiveness, those rags were comparable to biological weapons.
With the thugs hindered by the long-range assault, students like Tan Xiaoxiao and Lin Siyu were able to press their attack. Soon, ash buckets, mops, and even a fire extinguisher were raining down on the thugs.
No matter how tough they were, they stood no chance against such a chaotic, overwhelming onslaught. After a brutal beating, they lay on the floor, either unconscious or groaning in agony.
