Chapter 104: What on Earth Is Happening?
Leigao’s words emboldened Shanpao even further.
Clutching a jagged broken beer bottle, his face twisted into a ferocious grin as he strode toward Li Sicheng.
Several burly men followed closely behind, forming a semicircular barrier that encased Li Sicheng within.
Gao Zixi had never imagined they would be so lawless, showing no regard even for the police. Watching Shanpao and the others close in step by step, her heart filled with dread and fear.
After all, Gao Zixi was only in her early twenties—she had never witnessed such a scene before.
Yet, despite being terrified out of her wits, she summoned her courage and stepped forward, spreading her arms to shield Li Sicheng behind her.
“Get lost!” Shanpao sneered, raising his brow in menace. “Don’t think I’ll go easy on you just because you’re a woman! If you don’t scram right now, I’ll use this bottle to gouge a deep bloody hole in you!”
Gao Zixi’s breath came in rapid gasps, her body trembling uncontrollably—her fear was palpable.
Still, she didn’t retreat an inch; instead, she lifted her chin and glared fiercely at Shanpao. “You want to hurt my student? You’ll have to step over my dead body first!”
Though afraid, her voice was surprisingly steady.
Gao Zixi’s willingness to risk her life for her student stunned Shanpao and his crew, causing them to hesitate and slow their advance.
Seizing the moment, Gao Zixi quickly turned and shouted to the students of Class 1-3 behind her, “Run! What are you all standing there for? I’m holding them off—get out of here now!”
Run?
Though every student in Class 1-3 clearly heard Gao Zixi’s command, none of them turned to flee.
They all stayed put.
It wasn’t because their legs were weak or they couldn’t run—it was because they didn’t want to.
The students were all fifteen or sixteen years old: an age of impulsiveness and deep emotional resonance.
Earlier their fear stemmed from the intimidating aura radiating from Shanpao and his gang, as well as the sight of those sharp broken beer bottles.
But now, seeing Gao Zixi risk her life to protect them, their terror was instantly drowned beneath a fierce, burning courage.
“Teacher Gao, we won’t run! We can’t just leave you behind!”
“That’s right! We’re not cowards. We’d never abandon our teacher and run away! If we go, it’s together; if we stay, it’s together!”
“Damn it, let’s fight them! We’re dozens strong, and they’re only seven or eight—what’s there to fear?”
The students stirred with passion, shouting as they began searching the surroundings for makeshift weapons to prepare for battle.
Though they couldn’t find broken beer bottles, the KTV hallway had ashtrays, decorative vases, and fire extinguishers—perfect for fighting. Soon, these were in the students’ hands.
Armed, their confidence surged.
Eyes wide and fierce, they glared at Shanpao and his gang.
Sensing the shift in the students’ spirit, Shanpao’s expression darkened; a bad feeling nagged at him.
“Shit. These kids outnumber us by several times. If they get the courage to fight, thereI'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
