Chapter 150: Mikasa, First Display of Strength!

“Hold on!” The fierce battle between Kosuke Yoshimura and Xing Maqiu had only just begun when they were drawn to the intense confrontation between Shikong Xu and Bai Hao. Consequently, Kosuke’s attention remained fixed on Shikong Xu.

The moment he saw Shikong Xu collapse, utterly drained, Kosuke immediately lunged forward.

Seeing Kosuke rushing at him, Bai Hao gritted his teeth against the pain and tried to summon his ice-control abilities once more. Unfortunately, his injuries were barely any better than Shikong Xu’s.

Having just taken a brutal blow from Shikong Xu, who had activated the third gate of the “Eight Gates” technique—the Life Gate—Bai Hao was already doing well to remain standing.

“Die!”

Driven by Bai Hao’s indomitable will, massive ice spikes erupted from the ground and surged directly toward Kosuke.

Crackling sounds filled the air as countless ice shards unexpectedly burst forth from beneath. Kosuke was caught off guard, impaled through and through by several spikes, which pinned him firmly to the spot.

With just a single move, even severely wounded, Bai Hao had managed to immobilize Kosuke!

Yet, having unleashed this attack, Bai Hao seemed utterly drained, collapsing onto the ground with a heavy thud.

“Ugh… ha…” Kosuke struggled fiercely, but the ice spikes Bai Hao conjured were incredibly hard. After much effort, Kosuke managed to break only half of the spikes; the rest remained embedded in his body.

“Roar—”

Suddenly, Kosuke unleashed a burst of energy, tearing all the remaining spikes from within his body. But at that moment, Xing Maqiu had already closed the distance behind him.

“Ghoul, you won’t be walking away alive today!” Maqiu leapt high into the air, then crashed down with tremendous speed, swinging a baseball bat imbued with fierce fighting spirit.

Thud!

The heavy bat collided with Kosuke’s arm, and the savage aura tore through flesh and blood, leaving the arm mangled.

Yet, with Kosuke’s powerful regenerative abilities, the wound healed almost instantly.

“Tch! What a pain!” Maqiu sneered, raising his bat again and charging forward.

Watching the desperate skirmish between Maqiu and Kosuke, Bai Hao felt his strength returning little by little. Rising to his feet, he glanced briefly at Shikong Xu, then turned his focus away. After all, his target was the ghouls, not his schoolmates.

Standing up, Bai Hao pulled out several bottles of red and blue potions, quickly downing them. The red potions healed his wounds, while the blue restored his energy.

After quaffing several bottles in succession, Bai Hao regained enough strength to move freely. He estimated that if he wished, he could now summon his ice-control powers again without too much difficulty.

“Ice Lock Spikes!”

Bai Hao slammed both hands down, and thick ice spikes erupted once more around Kosuke, piercing him through and trapping him instantly.

“Roar!”

Kosuke, now fully transformed into his Kakuja form, let out a frustrated roar. Bai Hao's strength was overwhelming; Kosuke was nearing his limit.

“Damn it!” Shikong Xu lay limp on the ground, his body shattered after forcibly opening the Life Gate. Without his “Titanic Regeneration,” he would surely have been rendered useless.

“You’re pushing me! I still have a trump card!” Seeing Kosuke trapped by the two enemies, Shikong Xu’s eyes reddened with determination. Though he was out of fighting strength, he still possessed a secret weapon capable of turning the tide.

“Contract Summoning!”

“Mikasa—”

Deep within Shikong Xu’s jet-black pupils, a complex geometric pattern shimmered with dazzling light. Suddenly, the radiant pattern projected itself into reality, spreading across the ground in a vast magical circle.

At the center of this brilliant geometry, a graceful figure quietly appeared.

Mikasa was there.

Though she should have been at home, a sudden stirring in her heart alerted her to Shikong Xu’s summoning contract. To avoid detection by Ye Xi, she immediately slipped out of her house.

“Xu! What happened to you?” Once the confusion caused by the sudden change of scene vanished, Mikasa’s eyes widened as she saw Shikong Xu lying on the ground, his face etched with pain.

“I’m fine. I just need a moment to rest.”

“Don’t talk nonsense. I’ll take you to a doctor.”

“No, no, this is an emergency. Mikasa, you must help the one being surrounded over there.” Shikong Xu weakly pointed toward Kosuke. “He’s our ally. The enemies are the other two.”

“Xu, are you really okay?” Despite Shikong Xu’s assurances, Mikasa remained worried.

“I’m fine. You’d better hurry. The enemies are strong. Remember to deploy your CR-UNIT.”

Seeing Shikong Xu’s serious expression, Mikasa finally nodded.

From her pocket, she produced a sealed crystal bought from the Exchange Hall. The moment she held it, the crystal emitted a powerful glow.

The light enveloped Mikasa, and in an instant, an exoskeletal mechanical suit encased her body.

The sky-blue armored suit covered her limbs and back. In her hands, she wielded a yellow laser sword, her waist equipped with thrusters for flight and a massive laser cannon.

With a burst from the thrusters, Mikasa soared into the air, raising the giant laser cannon and aiming it squarely at Bai Hao and Maqiu.

The commotion caused by Shikong Xu’s summoning had already caught Bai Hao and Maqiu’s attention, but Kosuke seemed to anticipate Shikong Xu’s grand move and fought desperately to keep them distracted.

Kosuke ignored his injuries completely—though one of his hands was broken and one foot frozen solid, he showed no sign of retreat.

“What’s that…” Maqiu looked up and saw a stunning black-haired girl wielding a massive laser cannon pointed directly at them.

“Get out of the way!” Bai Hao reacted swiftly, raising both hands. Instantly, a massive wall of ice formed before him, enveloping the air in a chill.

Boom!

After a second’s charge, Mikasa fired the laser cannon. A giant sphere of light slammed into Bai Hao’s ice wall, its searing heat melting most of the ice before detonating with a thunderous explosion.

The blast tore a huge crater at least ten meters across into the ground.

With just one shot, Mikasa demonstrated devastating destructive power—so formidable that even a half-step Canglu-class warrior would hesitate to face it head-on.

Now equipped with the CR-UNIT exosuit, Mikasa might well be stronger than Shikong Xu himself.
