Chapter 110: Scaring the Little One
Seeing the crowd close in around him, Sikong Xu remained completely unfazed. In fact, the corners of his mouth even curved upward slightly. He could already imagine the stunned expressions on their faces once he made his move.
“Wow, this is the first time I’ve ever seen someone as thickheaded as you.”
One of Zhao Tian’s lackeys chuckled as he held up the iron rod in his hand. In the past, whenever they fought students from other middle schools, most of their opponents would lose their nerve the moment he revealed the rod. Yet this guy before them seemed completely clueless. Didn’t he know how powerful the thing in his hand was?
“Hahaha, I think this guy’s just an idiot.”
“He wants to play the hero and save the beauties? He should take a good look at himself first.”
“These two girls are pretty cute. It’d be great if Young Master Tian let us have a taste of them later.”
The vulgar remarks from Zhao Tian’s lackeys turned the faces of Ye Xi and Liu Mingming deathly pale.
“Xiao Xi, don’t be afraid. I’m here.” Sikong Xu rubbed Ye Xi’s head, wearing an expression of utter satisfaction. If he had tried that under ordinary circumstances, she would definitely have lost her temper with him.
“Sikong Xu, you—you should run. They’re only after me. You…”
“Shh… Don’t say anything. Just watch me. I promise everything will be fine.”
Sikong Xu gave what he considered a handsome smile, then added, “And from now on, call me Big Brother. Stop using my name all the time. Otherwise, people won’t know we’re siblings.”
To be honest, Sikong Xu had never heard Ye Xi call him “Big Brother.” Sometimes he wondered how nice it would be if his little sister were a sweet, gentle girl—preferably the sort who was easy to win over.
Bah, what was he thinking? A cold, quiet, expressionless little sister wasn’t bad either.
Just then, an iron rod swung straight toward Sikong Xu’s head. Terrified, Ye Xi immediately squeezed her eyes shut.
Bang!
A dull thud rang out, and the face of the man wielding the rod instantly turned deathly pale. The sensation traveling back through the iron rod had not felt like striking a person at all. It felt more like…
Sikong Xu had caught the incoming rod with one hand. At the same time, he converted a trace of inner force through his source power.
Under the man’s horrified gaze, Sikong Xu forcibly twisted the solid iron rod—three centimeters thick—until it bent.
“Do you want to die?”
Sikong Xu’s icy gaze shot toward him. The murderous intent in his eyes frightened the man so badly that he collapsed onto the ground.
For an instant, the entire scene fell silent. Everyone present understood what it meant to bend a three-centimeter-thick solid iron rod with one’s bare hands.
Even Ye Xi wore a look of astonishment. Was this really the same Big Brother she knew?
Apart from Sikong Xu, everyone there was a middle-school student—a group of fourteen- or fifteen-year-old boys. A hint of killing intent from Sikong Xu was enough to frighten them all into silence.
Oh, right. He had nearly forgotten that there was still a driver in Zhao Tian’s luxury car.
“Young Master, get behind me at once. This boy is no ordinary person!”
A hoarse voice suddenly came from behind Zhao Tian. It belonged to the driver in his car.
“Ah-Zheng! It’s Ah-Zheng! Hurry up and beat this guy to a pulp!”
Zhao Tian suddenly remembered that his family had assigned him a driver who also served as his bodyguard, and his courage immediately returned.
He had no idea where someone his own age had found such terrifying strength, but the bodyguard his family had provided was extremely formidable. He had heard that the man was a discharged soldier who had killed many people on the battlefield in his youth.
“Young Master, get behind me first,” Ah-Zheng said cautiously.
“Fine, fine, fine! Ah-Zheng, you have to beat him up for me!”
With that, Zhao Tian immediately retreated behind him.
“Boy, you’re a student from Dimensional Academy, aren’t you?”
Ah-Zheng spoke with a solemn expression. He had served in the military and had learned about those groups that possessed supernatural powers. People like that were known as Gifted Individuals, and there were many of them in the armed forces.
When he was young, Ah-Zheng himself had learned a few techniques for cultivating battle aura in the army, so he could barely be considered one of them as well.
“Well, well. Have I found one of my own kind?” Sikong Xu asked with a smile.
From the first moment he had seen this man, Sikong Xu had sensed that there was something unusual about him.
“And where did you come from?”
“I’m merely a discharged soldier who became a bodyguard to make a living,” Ah-Zheng replied indifferently.
“I’ve never seen a discharged soldier help someone bully women and throw his weight around.”
Ah-Zheng ignored the contempt in Sikong Xu’s eyes. He had his own way of conducting himself.
“I only stepped forward because I judged that you posed a threat to the young master. My sole responsibility is to protect his safety. As for everything else, I couldn’t care less.”
“Oh? You’re rather stubborn, aren’t you? Then let me make this clear: I’m beating Zhao Tian up today!”
“You’re welcome to try.”
Ah-Zheng’s expression remained grave.
The youth before him appeared to be no more than fifteen or sixteen, yet he gave Ah-Zheng a deadly sense of danger. The realization secretly alarmed him. Even so, the battle aura within his body remained the foundation of his confidence and his greatest reliance.
“Tch…”
Sikong Xu clicked his tongue.
In the real world, there was no dedicated equipment-storage space available for him to use. Such things could only be used in the fantasy worlds.
However, the independent one-cubic-meter space that came with his mark was still available. The Elucidator, with its roughly three-foot-long blade, lay quietly inside it.
If not for the law prohibiting the casual display of controlled weapons, Sikong Xu would have taken out the Elucidator long ago and scared the life out of them.
He had originally intended to avoid the whole affair as much as possible, but Zhao Tian had refused to let the matter go. In the end, he had even attacked him.
If Sikong Xu did not establish some authority, how was he supposed to hold his head high in front of his little sister in the future?
Therefore, even with a bodyguard like Ah-Zheng—who appeared to be a Gifted Individual—blocking his way, Sikong Xu had decided to give Zhao Tian a thorough beating.
“I advise you not to stand in my way. Otherwise, if you end up missing an arm or a leg, don’t blame me.”
Sikong Xu had already issued his warning. But as he looked at the immovable man before him, he knew that a fight between them was unavoidable.
“Sikong Xu… forget it. Let’s go,” Ye Xi said, gently tugging at the corner of his clothes.
“That’s right, Sikong… Big Brother. Why don’t we call the police?” Liu Mingming urged from the side.
“No. That guy has to be taught a lesson today. It’s fortunate I happened to be here. What would you do if he harassed you while I wasn’t around?”
Sikong Xu was not the sort of rigid fool who could never adapt. On the contrary, he was somewhat slick, and he was full of devious ideas. There were simply certain matters on which he absolutely refused to yield.
Those matters concerned the principles by which he lived.
“Since you insist on standing in my way, don’t blame me for being ruthless.”
