Chapter 108: Has Xiaoxi Been Harassed?
The transaction concluded, and Sikong Xu took his 4,000 credits to the Exchange Hall once more. He intended to purchase a set of equipment for Mikasa, and, if he found anything suitable, exchange some skills for her as well.
Watching Sikong Xu’s departing figure, Mu Ning remained unable to dispel the doubt in her heart.
Why had that fellow gone to the Exchange Hall before selling her the potion? Could it be that he had only gone there to exchange for the bloodline potion at the last moment? But if he had that many credits, why sell the potion to her at such a low price?
Mu Ning frowned slightly. A mature woman lost in thought was an exceedingly captivating sight—unfortunately, Sikong Xu was no longer there to see it.
Wait!
Suddenly, Mu Ning understood the crux of the matter!
That fellow must have been short of credits. That was why he had sold the bloodline potion to her. As for his trip to the Exchange Hall, it must have been to use his rating points to exchange directly for a bloodline potion!
Having figured this out, Mu Ning grew even more curious about Sikong Xu.
Rating points could not be traded, nor could they be combined to exchange for items. In other words, to use rating points to obtain the Minotaur Bloodline Potion, worth as much as 5,000 credits, one would need at least an S-minus rating.
“Could it be that he once received an S-minus rating or higher...?” Mu Ning murmured softly.
That fellow had only enrolled a month ago, hadn’t he? And from what she had learned from her younger sister, he seemed to be the most notorious good-for-nothing among the first-year students. A useless student and a genius who had obtained an S-minus rating or higher... The gap between the two seemed far too great.
Mu Ning chuckled and shook her head. It seemed she would have to pay more attention to that fellow from now on. An S-minus rating or higher... There were hardly more than a few people in the entire academy who had managed to obtain such a high evaluation.
Since Mikasa was merely an ordinary human with an explosively high combat capacity, Sikong Xu spent a long time considering what equipment to choose for her.
At last, he thought of a piece of equipment that suited her perfectly.
As an ordinary human, Mikasa’s combat ability surpassed that of normal people several times over for two reasons. One was the existence of the three-dimensional maneuvering gear; the other was that she had unlocked her body’s potential.
When Mikasa was young, she had been kidnapped by human traffickers. At the moment of crisis, the stimulation her brain received triggered her body, causing it to unleash tremendous potential.
This was very similar to the awakening of strength conducted during Dawn Academy’s entrance ceremony.
Thus, Sikong Xu thought of a particularly special piece of equipment: the CR-UNIT.
CR-UNIT, or Combat Realizer Unit, was the collective name for the equipment from *Date A Live* that employed manifestation devices for tactical purposes.
Speaking of the CR-UNIT, one could not fail to mention the manifestation device.
This was a device that reproduced the results of computer calculations in the real world, completely distorting the laws of reality. Collectively, such devices were known as technology capable of realizing “magic.”
CR-UNITS could not only greatly enhance an individual soldier’s combat ability, but also came equipped with various advanced technological weapons.
Furthermore, the equipment’s suit was fitted with a basic manifestation device, capable of generating an invisible field around the user similar to a psychokinetic barrier. This was commonly known as the Territory.
In Sikong Xu’s eyes, such equipment had practically been tailor-made for Mikasa.
The only problem was that he could not guarantee whether the Exchange Hall actually offered CR-UNITS. The exchange facilities of Dawn Academy were not capable of producing every imaginable item.
Some treasures that were exceptionally precious or rare in the world of anime could not be found in the Exchange Hall at all.
And even if CR-UNITS were available, Sikong Xu could not guarantee that the 4,000 credits in his possession would be enough.
After entering one of the Exchange Hall’s private black rooms, Sikong Xu used the three-dimensional screen projected by the Dawn Academy supercomputer to search for CR-UNITS.
Fortunately, the Exchange Hall did offer them. The price, however, was astonishingly high. With his 4,000 credits, Sikong Xu could only exchange for an ordinary CR-UNIT worth 3,500 credits. He then used the remaining credits to purchase several Red Potions for Mikasa to save her life in emergencies.
With that, everything was settled.
Several hours had passed during the process. In the past, Sikong Xu would already have been at home preparing dinner for his younger sister, Ye Xi, who would soon be returning.
There was no longer enough time for that now, so Sikong Xu simply changed his plans. He decided to go to Ye Xi’s school and pick her up after classes.
He took out his phone and sent Ye Xi a text message, roughly telling her to wait for him after school, as he would come to pick her up.
The message had barely been sent when a reply came back. The phone screen displayed only two brief words:
“Boring.”
Seeing Ye Xi’s cold reply, Sikong Xu smiled. Ever since the day he had met her, the little girl had always been this cold and distant.
Still, she had not refused him, which meant she had agreed.
Jinling City was enormous. Dawn Academy was located somewhat toward the outskirts, while Jinling No. 5 Middle School, which Ye Xi attended, happened to be not far from the academy.
After leaving the academy and taking a taxi, Sikong Xu arrived at Jinling No. 5 Middle School half an hour later.
At that moment, the entrance to No. 5 Middle School was crowded with people. Most were students heading home after classes before the weekend. Fortunately, Sikong Xu stood nearly six feet tall, so he could still see the students in the distance despite the crowd.
However, after looking around for a long while, Sikong Xu still could not find Ye Xi. The people around him had already dispersed, so why had he still not seen his adorable little sister?
After thinking it over, Sikong Xu decided that since Ye Xi had not directly rejected him by text, she must have agreed. Then why had she not appeared after so long?
The more he thought about it, the more something felt wrong. Sikong Xu decided to enter the school and take a look. He still knew which class Ye Xi was in.
Upon entering the school, he found cherry trees planted all along both sides of the roads. The campus of No. 5 Middle School was quite pleasant, and the grounds were extensive.
Compared with a prodigal tycoon like Dawn Academy, however, Jinling No. 5 Middle School was several grades inferior. The golden statue of Ye Fei atop Dawn Academy’s administrative building alone could probably have bought half of No. 5 Middle School.
To find Ye Xi as quickly as possible, Sikong Xu activated Precise Perception the moment he entered the school gates. Every detail within a hundred meters was instantly captured in his mind.
Precise Perception truly lived up to its status as a C-minus perception skill. In scarcely any time at all, Sikong Xu discovered Ye Xi’s presence.
It seemed, however, that she was currently in some kind of trouble.
“Hmph. What nerve!”
Through Precise Perception, Sikong Xu already knew that Ye Xi seemed to be entangled with some boy. His expression immediately darkened, becoming frighteningly grim.
How dare someone harass his adorable little sister? That fool must have grown tired of living!
Sikong Xu narrowed his eyes slightly. Whenever he grew angry, he had a habit of narrowing them.
“Xiao Xi, I’ve come to pick you up.” Sikong Xu quickly walked over to Ye Xi and smiled at her.
At the same time, Sikong Xu finally saw the boy who had been pestering her.
