Chapter Ninety-One: The Siege
Leon Feng sprang up at once, his golden fist tearing through the air like a falling star. With thunderous force, it smashed toward the dazed First Elder.
By the time the First Elder had only just recovered from his moment of distraction, a golden fist was already bearing down on him.
He struck out with both palms in rapid succession. Instantly, the space around him seemed to move with his hands, compressing and surging toward Leon Feng’s fists.
Just as Leon Feng’s right fist was about to land, he suddenly felt as if he had plunged into a swamp.
“Not good. He has already condensed his momentum.”
Alarmed, Leon Feng flooded his right fist with true energy. The golden light instantly blazed even more fiercely. With a deafening boom, he broke through the First Elder’s momentum and slammed fiercely against both his palms.
A thunderous impact rang out.
A violent wave of power spread in all directions, shaking the entire council hall as if it might collapse at any moment.
Leon Feng was also forced back by the shock. His eyes burned as he stared at the First Elder.
“To think this little brat can actually take one of my palms. You are indeed no ordinary man,” the First Elder said, a trace of surprise appearing in his eyes as he looked at Leon Feng.
“Damn it! So you were this despicable.” The Fourth Elder had one arm clawed bloody, and in his fury he roared like a madman. While fighting Zhao Xu, he retreated toward the outside of the hall.
The Second Elder was also locked in combat with Zhao Heng and Zhao Tu. The three of them shifted positions ceaselessly, leaving behind dozens of afterimages that made it impossible to tell true from false.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Fists, palms, and legs collided again and again, releasing deafening crashes. The savage energy battered the ground into many deep pits of varying sizes.
Although Zhao Heng and Zhao Tu fought together against the Second Elder, his palm force drove them back step by step.
At that moment, Leon Feng swung his fists like shooting stars chasing the moon. Brilliant golden fist-light surged like sea and tide, bursting with ferocious power as it continued to crash against the First Elder’s palms.
Between them, scorching energy fluctuations exploded outward. Everything nearby was destroyed to the ground. Even the floor was blasted with thunderous detonations before vast fissures spread in all directions.
Although Leon Feng’s fists were like meteors, fierce and explosive, the momentum condensed in the First Elder’s palms weakened their force, greatly diminishing their power.
By contrast, the First Elder’s palms carried a trace of the world’s momentum, as if he controlled the force of the surrounding space itself, pressing down together upon his foe and amplifying his own strength.
Under this ebb and flow, Leon Feng could only be forced back again and again, while the First Elder pressed forward like a rainbow, attacking relentlessly.
“Dragon Soaring!” Leon Feng bellowed.
The unique movement technique of his flawless gold body erupted, and at once his figure flickered rapidly, as if a dragon were rising into the nine heavens. Wherever his body passed, streaks of dragon-shaped pillars of energy appeared. His speed instantly increased severalfold.
“Hm!”
The First Elder was startled. Leon Feng’s speed had suddenly increased severalfold, so much that even his attacks could no longer hinder him. He could not help but be shocked. He increased the force in his palms, unleashing still more overwhelming power.
Leon Feng’s figure revolved continuously around the First Elder. Relying on his speed advantage, he struck out with a fist now and then. Though he could not inflict any real injury, he still kept the First Elder in constant disarray. Thus the two entered a stalemate.
Meanwhile, the battle between Zhao Xu and the Fourth Elder had already reached its final stage.
Their cultivation levels were originally about equal, but the Fourth Elder had been injured first and was caught off guard. Though he roared furiously, as time wore on, his defeat had already been sealed.
“Ghost Soul Demonic Hand!”
The Fourth Elder shouted and unleashed his final killing move. He pushed both palms straight out, and a stream of black true energy surged from his palms, spreading across his entire hands. In an instant, his palms were shrouded in sinister blackness, like the hands of a demon, chilling to behold. In the blink of an eye, they were already before Zhao Xu.
“Savage Cleave!” Zhao Xu had long been prepared. He raised his hand like a blade and poured fierce true energy into it. A series of sharp blade-lights condensed around him, dazzling with murderous edge.
He slashed both hand-blades forward, and countless streaks of fierce brilliance shot out like arrows loosed from a bow. The air split with hissing sounds as they flew, and in the blink of an eye they collided with the Fourth Elder’s pitch-black palms.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Explosions rang out continuously. Countless blade-lights were shattered by the black palms, yet even more blade-lights kept shooting in.
At last, with a thunderous blast, all the blade-light was broken, and the Fourth Elder’s palms were cut open with wounds deep enough to expose bone.
The final burst of power sent both men reeling back, coughing blood.
“Haha! Though the Zhao family was prepared, they still cannot escape destruction.” The Second Elder had profound cultivation. Even while trading blows with his opponents, he still had the energy to watch the situation unfold. He saw that fifty elite disciples of the Thousand Poisons Sect were driving the Zhao family’s martial fighters back step by step.
“It looks like the overall situation is settled. Boy, you need not continue this meaningless resistance,” the First Elder said disdainfully to Leon Feng, having also noticed that his own side now held the upper hand.
“Heh heh! Old fool, you may be cunning, but you still won’t be a match for the Thousand Poisons Sect.” Though the Fourth Elder was gravely injured, his mood brightened considerably as he looked at the present situation, and he mocked Zhao Xu.
Bang! Bang!
Just as the various elders were feeling smug, two deafening crashes suddenly sounded outside. Then the Zhao family gates were thrown open, and dozens of people rushed in from outside. Each carried a blade or sword, and they launched an attack on the fifty disciples of the Thousand Poisons Sect.
“Damn it, we’ve fallen into an ambush! Second Brother, Fourth Brother, retreat quickly!” The First Elder had just been full of confidence, never imagining that so many people would suddenly appear. His men were immediately driven back step by step, and he decided to retreat with the other two elders.
The two heard this and also tried to charge outward, but helplessly they were both entangled by their opponents and could not break free.
Boom!
At that moment, the Second Elder endured a palm strike from Zhao Heng at the cost of his own injury. He pulled out a black pellet from his person and flung it to the ground. It exploded with a thunderous blast, and black mist instantly billowed out, turning the surroundings into complete darkness.
Several elders of the Thousand Poisons Sect took advantage of the opening, broke free of their opponents, and fled outward.
Seeing the world plunged into darkness, Zhao Heng, Leon Feng, and the others knew something was wrong. They quickly covered their mouths and noses and charged outside as well. By the time they emerged, they saw that the three elders of the Thousand Poisons Sect had already reached the gate and were about to escape with their lives.
At that moment, the Fourth Elder turned back and sneered at the crowd. “No matter how many schemes you devise, have we not still escaped?”
With that, the three of them rushed toward the Zhao family gate, about to break out.
“Damn it. To think we still let them get away.” Zhao Heng was so furious that he slapped a nearby small tree and broke it clean in two.
Zhao Xu and the others looked at the backs of the elders of the Thousand Poisons Sect and could only sigh in regret.
“Since the three of you have come, why not stay?”
Just as everyone thought the three great elders were about to escape, three figures walked in from outside the gate and blocked their path.
