Chapter 117: A Clash of Titans
Liu Feng heard the murmurs from the crowd below and turned his gaze toward the arena.
The man called Lan Yun stood tall and graceful in blue robes, his features handsome and refined, his eyes shining bright like stars. There was an aura of calm and serenity radiating from him, as if the gentle breeze and drifting clouds had taken form.
Opposite him, Zhang Yufeng from the Dream Moon Kingdom wore cyan garments. He was tall and imposing, with a resolute face, eyebrows sharp as blades, and eyes piercing like swordlight. A fierce, razor-sharp aura emanated from him, like a peerless weapon capable of slicing through the heavens.
Though their temperaments were worlds apart—one serene as clouds, the other sharp as a blade—both exuded an inscrutable depth, an aura of profound mastery.
“These two both look extraordinarily gifted. This match is going to be thrilling,” Zhao Bochao remarked to Liu Feng.
Liu Feng nodded thoughtfully. “They share a similar aura—an undeniable presence of invincibility.”
At that moment, the two had already begun their duel atop the platform.
Zhang Yufeng struck first. Clenching his right fist, he unleashed a surging torrent of qi, condensing into a white fist-shaped phantom as vast as a millstone. It carried the overwhelming force of crushing and obliterating, surging forward with unstoppable momentum.
He swung his fist rapidly, the fierce white fist phantom crashing down like a great boulder toward Lan Yun.
Lan Yun’s eyes sparkled with sharp light as he formed a peculiar hand seal swiftly. A blue energy shield materialized before him, emanating an aura of unyielding solidity, like a massive azure barrier standing firm.
“Clang!”
The enormous white fist slammed hard against the blue shield, erupting in a resonant clang akin to the deep tones of ancient bells.
Violent energy radiated outward in all directions, stirring a fierce whirlwind that swept across the platform, leaving it spotless as though a hurricane had passed.
“Impressive! Let’s see how many punches you can take!” Zhang Yufeng grinned fiercely, his assault accelerating. His right fist hammered out relentlessly.
One white fist phantom after another tore through the air, each like a cannonball imbued with savage power, battering Lan Yun’s shield without pause.
“Bang! Bang! Bang...”
The continuous clashing sounded like divine drums pounding, bursting into an overwhelming roar that shook the very air.
The immense shockwaves crashed outward like unceasing waves, rattling the audience in the stands. Some were so stunned they collapsed backward, losing consciousness.
“Boom!” With a final explosive crack, the blue shield shattered, but every white fist phantom was resisted.
“Amazing. Their striking force must each exceed a thousand cauldrons—that’s already the strength of a sixth-rank Yin-Yang Realm warrior,” Zhao Bochao said, visibly impressed.
Liu Feng watched the fierce battle, a gleam sparking in his eyes. His expression grew serious. “This was just their testing phase. If they unleashed their full power, their attacks would be even more terrifying.”
“However, for Brother Liu Feng, handling this should be effortless, right, Wang Xing?” A warrior from Qingyu Kingdom, who had been speaking with Liu Feng, suddenly asked.
The young warrior, Wang Xing, nodded. “Zhang Liang, you make a valid point. Given Brother Liu Feng’s current strength, he can indeed manage this with ease.”
Zhang Liang laughed heartily. “I never thought we’d see eye to eye on something. Looks like you have great confidence in Brother Liu Feng’s abilities!”
“Of course. I believe Brother Liu Feng ranks among the top three warriors in Qingyu Kingdom,” Wang Xing said earnestly.
Liu Feng shook his head upon hearing their praise. “I say, you two should stop flattering me. At this rate, I’ll become the common enemy of all the other kingdom warriors.”
“You two quiet down and watch the match,” Zhao Bochao called out loudly to Zhang Liang and Wang Xing.
After a few whispered exchanges, the two finally fell silent.
At this moment, the two combatants on the stage ignited their true flames.
Their bodies moved with lightning speed, flashing like bolts of thunder. The arena was filled with their fleeting images, dazzling the spectators into a whirl of confusion.
Their fists, palms, and legs collided relentlessly, unleashing waves of force like a sweeping hurricane. The platform itself was scarred with numerous craters of varying sizes.
“Bang!”
With a thunderous crack, the countless illusions vanished, revealing their clear forms once again.
Both bore numerous palm and fist marks across their garments, which were torn and shredded from the blows. Blood trickled from the corners of their mouths.
“Excellent! Take this—Thunder Strike!” Zhang Yufeng declared, raising his hands high as surging qi poured into his palms.
Suddenly, brilliant arcs of lightning appeared, crackling with thunderous power. A devastating, destructive aura burst forth.
He clapped his palms together, forming a glowing orb of thunderlight, which hurtled like a meteor toward Lan Yun.
“Annihilation Blade!” Lan Yun shouted, eyes blazing. His hands shifted into a vertical palm blade formation as his qi furiously swirled and gathered on his palms.
A dazzling red radiance erupted, flames blazing fiercely. The red light condensed into two giant blades, sharp and fierce like the blades of divine retribution.
With a powerful strike, the two blades merged into one massive, five-zhang-long scarlet blade. It exuded an aura capable of slicing through the void, tearing a vast fissure across the platform. His palm sliced through the air, the blade’s gleam streaking like a shooting star toward the thunder orb.
“Rumble!”
The thunder orb collided with the colossal red blade, unleashing cataclysmic energy like world-ending thunderclaps or a volcanic eruption.
Untamed power surged outward, shaking the entire arena. Amid the roaring echoes, a massive ten-zhang-wide crater appeared, crackling with threads of electric energy.
Simultaneously, both Lan Yun and Zhang Yufeng were blasted backward by the opposing force. Blood sprayed from their mouths, and faint traces of electricity and flickering flames still clung to their bodies.
Liu Feng regarded them with mild astonishment. “Their last exchange reached the strength of an eighth-rank Yin-Yang Realm warrior. This is nearly the limit of soul force fusion.”
