In truth, Mo Xing had no confidence at all! The moment he leaped into the massive pit, regret washed over him. This hole wasn't a horizontal passage—it led straight up and down. He plummeted like a parachutist, except there was no parachute.

“Ahhh—!” Mo Xing fell headlong, his sword, Frostless Divine, left behind above. He couldn't use Coldwater: Spiral Tempest to fly, and so he hurtled downward, powerless to stop his descent. It was only a matter of time before he was shattered to pieces!

No! Better to fight than to wait for death!

“Thousand Miles of Ice!” He stretched out his hands, water elements swirling around his waist as the temperature dropped. Droplets condensed into ice in midair, threatening to seal the entire mouth of the pit.

Suddenly, dizziness overtook Mo Xing. His strength left him and he slid down the icy slope he’d created at a forty-five degree angle.

“What the—why am I suddenly out of energy…” He clutched his head, fatigue overwhelming him. He could only let himself slide down the icy chute he'd conjured.

The tunnel was pitch-black, and he had no idea how long he’d been sliding without reaching the bottom. The person who blasted out this pit was formidable—one shot made such a deep hole! Combined with his Thousand Miles of Ice, it was practically the best slide of the year.

But putting those thoughts aside, as he slid deeper he felt the wind grow stronger… Down, down, the wind became a gale. It would take tens of thousands of fans to match this force!

So cold, it chilled him to the bone and lifted his spirits!

Suddenly, a dazzling blue light appeared ahead. Mo Xing instinctively shielded his eyes, and when he opened them again, he found himself in another space.

Crystals of cerulean blue carpeted the ground, reflecting and shimmering. A gentle wind wound through the cave entrance, and Mo Xing floated weightless in midair, moving freely, almost as if he were walking in space.

But what caught his attention most was at the very center: a peculiar egg, about the size of a palm, colored blue-green, its shell translucent, with a beam of light radiating outward in pulses, like the beat of a heart.

This… this feeling… so familiar…

Where had he seen it before?

Mo Xing drew closer to the crystal egg, the sense of familiarity intensifying. Fragmented images flashed through his mind.

A torrential rain… A wild hurricane… Was it from that dream?

He touched the egg with his right hand, and the blue light grew even brighter, as if responding to him.

It is…

“The Wind Dragon, Atwotan,” someone murmured quietly, like dust brushed from a dulled lyre.

Mo Xing turned his head to see a shadow standing by a nearby crystal. The face was aged, hair disheveled, yet the voice was youthful.

“Mr. Shen!” Mo Xing’s pupils contracted.

“It’s been a long time, young man,” Mr. Shen stepped forward.

“How… how are you here? Weren’t you arrested at the sewer casino?” Mo Xing exclaimed. “I saw you taken away, surrounded by police!”

“Do you have many questions, young friend?” Mr. Shen chuckled softly.

“I won’t explain, nor is it convenient. After all, another ‘friend’ is here.” Mr. Shen turned toward the upper entrance, speaking politely:

“Isn’t that right, Lin Ao?”

A third breath sounded from the darkness, as if answering him.

Mo Xing shifted and saw, at the passage he’d slid down, air rippling and then shattering into black sand. A figure slowly materialized.

“You!”

Mo Xing frowned. The short-haired man before him was the “bounty hunter” he’d locked eyes with on the Shenzhou’s deck. Those eyes held an inexplicable pressure, unforgettable.

It was because this man appeared suddenly on the altar that Mo Xing had chosen to jump into the pit to investigate. No wonder he hadn’t seen him after landing—the man had been invisible!

“Immortal Bright Lord…” Lin Ao glanced at Mo Xing, then fixed his gaze on Mr. Shen, clearly finding the latter more threatening.

“Oh, you even know my honorific,” Mr. Shen smiled, meeting Lin Ao’s eyes, calm and unafraid.

Mo Xing looked back and forth, bewildered. What was going on? Did these two know each other?

“Meow—” At that moment, a cat’s cry echoed from deep within the cave. Mo Xing looked and saw Little Moonshadow running over, followed by a figure flying on a sword.

“Zhang… Zhang Zhihao! You’re awake?” Mo Xing exclaimed. Zhang Zhihao had exhausted himself to sustain the Shenzhou, falling into a coma for days. Now he was back, and relief nearly brought Mo Xing to tears.

“Yes, I’ve been awake several days,” Zhang Zhihao smiled faintly. “You’ve done well lately.”

“Uh… not too bad,” Mo Xing scratched his head sheepishly. Apart from the first three days, he’d spent most of the last six recovering in the medical ward.

“Is this a tea party? Are you here to reminisce?” Lin Ao frowned, drawing his twin pistols, Phantom Emperor—

Night’s shadow is endless, the world is ash!

“Of course not! With so many, we could play a round of mahjong.” Mr. Shen summoned his crystal bow, Wind’s Lament—

Arrows howling, shattering armies!

“This isn’t a friendly game,” Zhang Zhihao swept his right hand, and the Divine King’s Holy Sword returned to his palm, erupting in crimson flame—

Blazing lotus, ignite!

“Meow!” Little Moonshadow cried fiercely, showing he was no mere spectator!

At this moment, everyone revealed their true colors. Murderous intent taut as a drawn string, ready to snap. Three people and one cat tensed, poised for attack…

Only Mo Xing stood lost and bewildered…

Who am I?

Where am I?

What should I do?

Should I be the dealer?

“Begin!” Mr. Shen plucked his bowstring, two blue arrows tearing through the air toward Lin Ao and Zhang Zhihao.

Piercing arrows!

“Meow!” Little Moonshadow leapt, casting a translucent orange shield to block the arrows for Zhang Zhihao.

Lin Ao, meanwhile, shifted, vanishing like a phantom. Two silent black bullets shot at Mr. Shen from an unknown direction.

Double burst: Whisper!

“Let’s see what surprises you have,” Mr. Shen laughed, sweeping his left hand. A fierce counterclockwise gale sprang up, blowing the bullets aside!

Wind element: Dominance!

Suddenly, the black bullets scattered into particles, forming a humanoid shape. Lin Ao appeared behind Mr. Shen, twin pistols transformed into red short swords, one slashing forward.

Crimson wheel dance: Splendor!

Mr. Shen spun quickly, dodging the sword, and quipped, “Don’t just target me!”

“It won’t matter,” Lin Ao replied, slashing at Mr. Shen with his right-hand sword, while the other flew at Zhang Zhihao.

“Impressive, fighting two at once!” Zhang Zhihao raised the Divine King’s Holy Sword, dueling with the red blade midair. “Mo Xing, take the egg and go!”

“Huh?” Mo Xing hesitated, then grabbed the blue egg with both hands, shouting, “Where should I run?”

“Follow the cat!” Zhang Zhihao said.

“Don’t think you can escape!” Lin Ao slipped past Mr. Shen, becoming a black flickering shadow that flashed beside Mo Xing.

Shadow assault: Dance!

Mo Xing hurried to unleash Thousand Miles of Ice, but before the crystals formed, Lin Ao shattered them with a dagger!

“Meow!” Little Moonshadow dashed in front, casting the orange shield to block Lin Ao. Yet Lin Ao remained calm, smiling confidently.

Their eyes met. Mo Xing saw the depths in Lin Ao’s gaze, feeling an inexplicable oppression, as if staring into an endless abyss.

In a fraction of a second, darkness enveloped Mo Xing—like the lights had gone out, unable to see his own hand, the space seemingly empty except for himself.

Suddenly, a bright red light illuminated the space, and Mo Xing realized he was surrounded by thick fog.

Smoke grenade???

He sneezed, discovering the egg in his hands had vanished—he was holding nothing.

Looking up, he saw Lin Ao holding the blue egg, his form dissolving into black particles as he faded away, smiling, “Until we meet again.”

But before he finished speaking, a gale swept the fog aside. Mr. Shen flashed before Lin Ao, reaching out to snatch the egg.

Both struck at once, powers clashing. The blue egg fell midair and was seized by a sudden beam of red light!

Everything happened so fast. Mo Xing hadn’t reacted before a hand grabbed him, pulling him into a tunnel.

“Ahhhh!” Mo Xing yelled, feeling like he was on a roller coaster. The scenery shifted rapidly, sometimes veering up, down, and even making wild turns.

“Stop shouting, or they’ll catch up,” a familiar voice came from above, and the flight slowed.

“Zhang… Zhang Zhihao? What’s going on?” Mo Xing realized he was inside an orange shield, with Zhang Zhihao beside him holding the blue egg!

So in that instant, the egg landed with the master?

“Meow~”

Little Moonshadow was there too, glowing, apparently controlling the shield’s movement—no, driving it like a car!

“I’ll explain later. We need to rendezvous with Shi Yan first,” Zhang Zhihao frowned, storing the egg in his ring and pulling out a furry windcoat.

“Where are we meeting her?” Mo Xing was lost, though happy to hear Shi Yan’s name.

“Put on the coat, you’ll soon find out.” Zhang Zhihao handed over the garment, gripping the Divine King’s Holy Sword as steam rose from him.

“This…” Mo Xing was even more puzzled. One moment he’s told to dress warmly, the next Zhang Zhihao acts as a human heater—was he trying to roast him alive?

Two seconds later, Mo Xing dropped that notion. Ahead, light burst forth as the shield shot from the tunnel into a world of pure white! More precisely—

A vast, snowy realm!
