“Damn it! Li Xiangcao!” Xiaofeng was utterly shocked—she really was a beauty among the new students!

“Boss, you’re on a winning streak this time!” said one of his followers.

“What are you talking about! Our boss isn’t some live-in son-in-law! There’s no profit or loss here!” another follower smacked the first one on the head.

“Exactly! This is a perfect match—talented gentleman and beautiful lady!” someone else chimed in.

“What time is it now?” Xiaofeng suddenly asked.

“Uh… it’s five thirty!” A follower checked his watch, only to have Xiaofeng clap him on the shoulder.

“I’ll give you ten minutes—find me a fitting suit, a bouquet of roses, and some of those famous perfumes…”

Twenty minutes later.

Dressed in a formal suit and holding flowers, Xiaofeng walked alone down the path behind the mountain, all these things taken from his followers.

At first, the followers hesitated, claiming their wallets were tight. But once Xiaofeng threw them a few bills, they sprang into action.

Money truly makes the world go round!

His family was quite wealthy, with endless money, though he had few real friends—just a bunch of greedy followers kept loyal with cash.

But, truth be told, the girls at Saint Sky Royal Academy weren’t interested in money. That hinted at their own powerful backgrounds, likely no weaker than his. Most of the boys, meanwhile, lived like ascetics, fulfilling that old saying:

Raise sons poor, daughters rich.

“Xiaofeng…”

A sweet voice drifted to his ears. He looked ahead and saw Li Xiangcao approaching, dressed in a pure and casual outfit. Her twin ponytails tied with purple hairbands swayed in the air, and her face was tinged with a shy blush.

On this autumn day, Xiaofeng felt as if a spring breeze swept through his soul.

“Hello, Li Xiangcao!” Xiaofeng smiled, waving his hand. Feng’s rule number one for flirting: always be confident and smile when talking to a pretty girl.

“Your suit fits you well…” Li Xiangcao smiled too.

“To meet someone as beautiful as you, naturally I must dress appropriately.” Xiaofeng bowed slightly, handing her the bouquet from behind his back.

“This is for you.”

Li Xiangcao covered her mouth in surprise, her eyes sparkling, “You actually brought flowers…”

“Just a token of my appreciation.” Xiaofeng nodded.

“Thank you!” Li Xiangcao took the flowers and laughed happily. “By the way, Xiaofeng, do you smell something special?”

“A scent?” Xiaofeng grinned. “Is it the fragrance from you, Li Xiangcao? The so-called ‘Xiang-cao’ scent.”

“Maybe…” Li Xiangcao turned her face shyly. “Xiaofeng, do you feel a little sleepy?”

“Sleep… sleep? Isn’t this moving a bit fast? How about we have dinner first—” Xiaofeng hadn’t finished before a wave of dizziness swept over him, and he collapsed to the ground.

“Young people just can’t handle it.” Li Xiangcao looked at Xiaofeng fainted on the ground and smiled. Her entire frame shifted, morphing into another form—

Mr. Shen!

“Is your side handled?” Mr. Shen said, as a misty white mirror appeared beside him.

“It’s done. Li Xiangcao is already placed on the magic carpet. Waiting for you to join us.” The person on the other side replied.

“Alright.” Mr. Shen grabbed Xiaofeng’s clothes, transformed into a blue whirlwind, and vanished.

Dragon Tooth Island, Dragon Roar Canyon.

“Achoo—”

Mo Xing sneezed loudly, then wiped his nose with a tissue.

“It’s getting cold, Mo Xing. Remember to wear more clothes,” Shi Yan frowned gently beside him.

“O-okay.” Mo Xing took a sweater from the Titan’s Ring.

“So, that Flame Battle God was wiped out by the mentor?” Wu Dan Ce finished his fifth bowl of rice and set it aside.

“Yeah.” Mo Xing nodded, having just recounted the afternoon’s events.

“Those seniors were too much, selling out their teammates!” Wu Dan Ce said indignantly.

“Mo Xing, next time you must call us along for such actions,” Shi Yan paused, “It’s too dangerous for you alone.”

“Alright.” Mo Xing nodded.

“Tonight’s a full moon. To respect local customs, the Divine Ark will stay in the wild for the night.” Wu Dan Ce glanced out the window. “Do you think there’ll be anything strange around here?”

“You saying that does make it a bit scary!” Mo Xing looked out as well. Tonight the moon was indeed full and bright, starkly contrasting the dark night. The woods occasionally rustled, as if hiding something…

A dark, windy night—danger lurking!

“Haha, Mo Xing, don’t overthink it. The Divine Ark’s shield is on; monsters and spirits shouldn’t get in,” Shi Yan giggled behind her hand.

“True, true.” Mo Xing scratched his head.

“But we must stay alert.” Shi Yan’s expression grew serious. “Sometimes, human hearts are scarier than ghosts and spirits.”

“Right, watch out for those nearby.” Wu Dan Ce lowered his voice, scanning the surroundings.

“Mm.” Mo Xing nodded; he knew these truths well.

Those seniors weren’t as righteous as they seemed. Inside Saint Sky Royal Academy, strict rules kept them in line; but outside, on missions, facing danger or hardship, their darker sides gradually surfaced.

“It’s late. Let’s head back to the dorm.” Shi Yan stood.

“Yeah.” Mo Xing got up, glancing toward the center of the dining hall. Xiao Ming was sitting in the restricted area, gobbling down food passed to him, looking like a harmless stray dog.

That guy… should be fine…

No abilities…

No weapons…

Plus so many seniors guarding…

Hopefully so.

Late at night.

Mo Xing lay sleepless in bed, even sheep-counting failed him. He didn’t dare to turn over, afraid of disturbing the resting Master Zhang Zhihui beside him.

Come to think of it, this was probably the first time Master Zhang Zhihui had gone to bed so early… After all, holding up the Divine Ark alone after what happened must have exhausted him.

He could use a break, or he’d be like a machine that never stops.

And Wu Dan Ce… only met him yesterday. Seeing his arms covered in scars had startled Mo Xing. After spending the day together, he found Wu Dan Ce quite likable—straightforward, generous, and a huge appetite. He also had his own unique mechanical theories.

Since the room had a double bed, Master Zhang Zhihui, healing his injuries, took half. Wu Dan Ce generously gave up the other half, sleeping on the sofa himself—a true brother! Ironclad friend!

“Tap tap—”

Just as Mo Xing grew drowsy, footsteps echoed in the hallway outside. Though very quiet, Mo Xing’s senses were sharp—someone was outside!

“Tap tap—” The footsteps came closer. Mo Xing gently lifted his blanket, ready to walk over and shake Wu Dan Ce awake, but the footsteps stopped.

What’s going on?

Never mind, wake Wu Dan Ce first!

“Brother Wu Dan Ce, wake up!” Mo Xing whispered, shaking his shoulder, but Wu Dan Ce was dead asleep, responding only with—

“Knock knock knock—”

The knocking tightened Mo Xing’s nerves. Clearly, whoever was outside was targeting him, knocking with a rhythmic pattern—every third knock was a heavy one.

Mo Xing kept shaking Wu Dan Ce, but he wouldn’t wake up. The knocking grew urgent.

This is bad!

Master Zhang Zhihui was still unconscious, Wu Dan Ce dead asleep, and Mo Xing alone facing the unknown outside!

Did they have urgent business with him?

Clearly not!

Only knocking, no speaking—definitely suspicious!

Should he turn on the lights to scare them off?

Obviously not!

Their strength was unknown; unlikely to be scared away so easily!

Mo Xing summoned Frostless from his storage ring and walked quietly over. Even in this world, doors had peepholes. He peered through to assess the situation.

Through the peephole, Mo Xing saw a figure outside, dressed in white, messy hair, somewhat familiar—was it…

Xiao Ming!

And his eyes were completely black!

Mo Xing was startled, as if a rabbit facing a wolf at the door, mumbling: “Little rabbit, open the door…”

Open the door? Not a chance!

“Knock knock—”

The knocking grew fiercer, and Mo Xing’s panic rose. Was this guy possessed? Too frightening! Was there an alarm button? Someone save him!

Moonlight shone through the curtains onto the wall. Mo Xing frantically searched for the alarm button.

“Beep beep—”

Suddenly, red lights flashed in the room and a loud alarm blared in the corridor!

“What’s happening?” Mo Xing was baffled. He hadn’t found the button—why was the alarm sounding?

“Someone’s invading!” Someone shouted in the corridor.

“Wha… what’s going on?” Wu Dan Ce was woken by the noise, rubbing his eyes.

“Something’s happening!” Mo Xing said, turning on the light.

“Open the door!” Someone yelled outside.

Mo Xing hesitated, then opened the door, seeing Xiao Ming looking frantic. Compared to earlier, at least he seemed normal now.

“The Dragonkin are invading! Help!” Xiao Ming cried.

“A massive dragon!”

“And it’s whipping up hurricanes!”

“That wind sounds like ghosts wailing!”

“Alright, enough. Let’s go to battle!” Wu Dan Ce put on his black vest, took a swig of water, and ran to the doorway. “Let’s go, Mo Xing!”

“Mm!” Mo Xing nodded.

“Weren’t you in the dining hall?” Wu Dan Ce asked as they ran, glaring at Xiao Ming. “How did you get out?”

“Those seniors aren’t reliable!” Xiao Ming grumbled.

“Half are up late, the other half playing cards!”

“They don’t care about me at all!”

“I had to pee, so I snuck out!”

“Then why did you come knocking on our dorm?” Mo Xing asked, “And you were acting weird—your eyes were lifeless, like a ghost!”

“I… I don’t know!” Xiao Ming explained.

“I was walking and walking…”

“Then I fell asleep…”

“Started sleepwalking…”

“You’re lying! That’s too unbelievable!” Wu Dan Ce frowned.

“I’m not!”

Just as Xiao Ming finished, a shrill wind echoed overhead.

“Whoosh—”

Mo Xing covered his ears and looked up. A gigantic dragon shadow blocked half the moon. In the bright moonlight, he could just make out something clamped in the dragon’s jaws—

A person!
