Caught off guard, Zhang Junyi was sent flying by a kick. Seeing this, Shu Miaoyan let out a startled cry.

"Brother, what are you doing? He is my savior! He saved me! Why are you doing this? Look, you've knocked down the person who was bullying me!" Shu Miaoyan hurriedly threw her clothes over her shoulders, wrapped them tightly around herself, stood up, and shielded Zhang Junyi.

Shu Yiming was beyond furious. It took him a long moment to regain his composure before he pointed at Zhang Junyi and asked, "He is your savior? Are you absolutely certain?"

"I am!"

Zhang Hai, still dazed from having been struck on the head earlier, felt his mind swimming. After being kicked, he felt a dull ache and wanted to open his eyes, but found he could not.

A second later, Shu Yiming stepped onto his head. Only then did Zhang Hai startle his eyes open. Seeing that it was Shu Yiming before him, Zhang Hai was terrified and scrambled to crawl away. But after only two steps, Shu Yiming kicked him again. Zhang Hai’s head slammed against the edge of the bed, and his brain rang with a deafening hum.

"Boss Shu, spare me! Please, spare me! This must be a misunderstanding; I truly didn't know she was your sister!" Zhang Hai swallowed hard, trembling uncontrollably. At that moment, only one thought occupied his mind: he had to get out of there, or his life would be forfeit.

However, Shu Yiming gave him no chance. Just as Zhang Hai tried to scramble up, Shu Yiming stepped heavily onto his shoulder. All the rage he had felt previously, combined with his current fury, surged within him. Shu Yiming was like a crazed lion, raining punches down upon Zhang Hai’s head.

The onlookers watched in horror, for Shu Yiming seemed truly unhinged, his blows vicious and relentless. Zhang Hai tried to dodge, but Shu Yiming gave him no room to escape.

About half an hour later, Zhang Hai was beaten black and blue, a massive lump swelling on his head. Blood streamed from his eyes, nose, and mouth; he was a unrecognizable mess. Yet, Shu Yiming showed no signs of stopping. He brought his foot down hard on Zhang Hai’s head again, crushing his nose bridge.

"Listen to me, Zhang Hai: anyone who dares to target my sister or bully my family will be left without a place to be buried!" Having said this, Shu Yiming gestured dismissively before stepping forward to take hold of Shu Miaoyan’s arm.

"Come home with me!" Shu Yiming’s face was cold and grim as he pulled Shu Miaoyan toward the door.

Just as they reached the threshold, a groan sounded from behind them. Shu Miaoyan turned back, her gaze falling on Zhang Junyi. His face was deathly pale, and he lay on the floor, seemingly unconscious.

Panic surged through Shu Miaoyan. Recalling what Zhang Junyi had said to her in the trunk of the car, she gasped in terror and rushed to his side.

"Zhang Junyi, are you alright?" She shook him vigorously and desperately pinched his philtrum, but Zhang Junyi remained unresponsive.

After struggling for a long while, Shu Miaoyan burst into tears.
