Shu Miaoyan was stunned by these words. She frowned, glanced at him with some confusion, and asked, "So you mean your boss is very rich, right?"

"Tell me, is that person Shu Ji? Or Wan Chaoyang? Or someone else entirely?" Shu Miaoyan began to analyze the situation carefully. She no longer felt anxious; instead, she felt a sense of excitement. If she could handle this matter well, she would finally be able to earn her brother’s respect. Thinking of this, Shu Miaoyan suddenly viewed this as a challenging game and narrowed her eyes slightly.

Unexpectedly, the burly man cast a cold glance at her and gave her a rough shove.

"You little brat, so clever and full of talk! I’m telling you, you’d better stay right where you are. If I have to use rope, I’ll tie you up so tight that if you die of exhaustion, don't blame me!"

The man actually produced a rope and began walking toward Shu Miaoyan, chuckling as he approached, his eyes gleaming with a terrifying and strange expression.

This time, Shu Miaoyan was truly frightened. Watching the man closing in step by step, she burst into tears, grabbed the little boy nearby, and hid behind him. After ducking behind him, she was startled herself and shouted in a panic, "Can you stop coming over here? We’ll stay here obediently! Both of us will stay perfectly still, but if you keep coming, don't blame me for being impolite!"

Seeing how obedient the two children had become, the brute lost his temper. He tossed the rope aside, thinking that these two kids couldn't cause any trouble anyway, and pulled a stool over to sit, staring straight at them.

Seeing how closely the man was watching, Shu Miaoyan gave up any thoughts of escaping. She sat in the chair nearby, staring at the little boy, their eyes locked. Because she had been terrified earlier and had lost her composure, her previous actions had been strange, but now her mind was clear and racing. She couldn't help but feel curious about the boy's identity. Frowning slightly, she moved closer to him, sat by his side, and looked up at him.

"Where are you from? Why were you captured too? Who are these people, and do you know them? Do you have any ideas?" Shu Miaoyan whispered into the boy’s ear, glancing furtively toward the side.

The brute grew tired from his vigil. With a loud thud, he leaned against the door and began to snore, the sound so deafening that the two children inside were overjoyed.

"Hey, tell me, why don't we find a way to sneak out? We can't keep staying here; if we’re truly kidnapped, it’s going to be a real disaster!" Shu Miaoyan had fully regained her senses, and the frightened look from before had vanished.

The little boy shook his head, sighed softly, and said, "It won't work. If we go out now, he’ll definitely catch us. He’s only just fallen asleep, and his sleep is still light; he hasn't entered a deep slumber yet. Even if we managed to slip out, he would likely chase us down, and he’s much faster than we are."

"Then what should we do? We can't just stay in this place forever. If this man demands something from my family, my brother will be in a terrible spot!" The thought of her brother, who wasn't even married yet, made her feel even more uneasy.
