Wang Erhu was stunned and frightened by the beating.
He couldn’t understand how Xu Feng, that kid, suddenly became so formidable.
The once sickly, quiet Xu Feng—when did he acquire such skills?
His strength and speed rivaled Xu Feng’s father back in the day!
Now, Wang Erhu truly regretted having provoked this formidable adversary.
“I... I...” Wang Erhu struggled to speak, his words stumbling as he met Xu Feng’s icy gaze, a chill running through his heart.
But he refused to back down, especially not in front of witnesses!
Although only a few people stood at the village entrance, some were watching...
His eyes darted around, suddenly grasping at a lifeline. Gritting his teeth, he spat out, “Xu Feng! Don’t get cocky! I heard it! Yesterday, when your little woman hit me, she cursed! She said ‘Baka’! That’s Japanese! Your wife, she’s a Jap! A damn Jap woman!”
As soon as the words left his mouth, thinking he had found a weakness, a sinister smile crept across his face. “If you don’t agree to my terms, I’ll expose this! I’ll let the entire village know you’re harboring Japanese devils! Let’s see how you’ll deal with that!”
Hearing this, Xu Feng’s brow twitched slightly, but his expression remained calm.
He crouched down and patted Wang Erhu’s swollen face—like a pig’s—neither too hard nor too soft, yet it made Wang Erhu wince in pain.
“Wang Erhu, Wang Erhu, your brain really isn’t working well,” Xu Feng said leisurely. “Go ahead and talk. Did I stop you? I want to see if anyone will believe you, a scoundrel who’s always stealing and harassing women, or believe me, an honest man just back from outside.”
He stood up, brushed off nonexistent dust from his clothes, glanced at Wang Erhu sprawled on the ground, and curled his lips in disdain.
“You think you can threaten me with that? You’re still too green. If you have time to waste, better go home and have your mother rub your face. Otherwise, I’m afraid you won’t be able to show your face to anyone anymore.”
With that, Xu Feng ignored him and hoisted his bow and arrows, striding toward Heixiaozi Valley.
The sunlight stretched his shadow long, and to Wang Erhu, that silhouette was unbearably arrogant and... terrifying.
Wang Erhu collapsed, clutching his throbbing face and stomach, watching Xu Feng’s retreating figure, trembling with rage, his teeth grinding fiercely.
He wanted to say something fierce, but his throat burned so badly he couldn’t utter a word.
Hatred, unwillingness, and fear tangled within him.
“Xu Feng... just wait! And that little bitch! I... I won’t forgive you!” Wang Erhu swore fiercely in his heart.
He knew he was no match for Xu Feng in a direct fight.
But open fights are easy to avoid; hidden arrows are harder to guard against. He refused to believe he couldn’t take down Xu Feng!
He would make sure the whole village knew about that woman being a Jap!
Then, they’d drown in their own spit!
With this thought, Wang Erhu struggled to his feet and limped toward the village.
