Chapter 130: A Twisted Love
Cui Yue’s eye twitched. The thick, pungent scent of blood was detectable from a distance; it was the first time he had ever witnessed such a ghastly and inhumane scene.
It was truly an outrage against both heaven and humanity!
The thin, tall man suddenly crouched down, gently stroking the face of the female corpse with one hand. His cold, indifferent face was now filled with an expression of doting affection.
"Yuxiu, you are only truly happy like this."
Cui Yue thought his ears were playing tricks on him. Old Wu, the driver, even stopped vomiting and turned back to stare at the thin man, his expression clearly that of someone who had just seen a ghost.
You brutally murdered a young woman, and you actually ask if she is happy?
What kind of twisted, nonsensical logic is that?
Cui Yue felt his anger burning, wishing he could rush over and finish him off right then and there.
The thin man adjusted his glasses, gazing at the corpse with deep sentimentality. He even used his hands to carefully set a half-detached eyeball back into its socket, his face full of pity.
Old Wu, who had finally managed to stop vomiting, turned back just in time to see this scene and immediately began to retch again.
So, this female ghost was named Yuxiu.
Cui Yue glanced toward where the ghost had been, only to find that Yuxiu had vanished.
"There, sleep well here now; no one will come to disturb you."
The thin man, his hands covered in blood, let out a soft sigh, his expression filled with a sickly sense of satisfaction.
Old Wu watched the thin man nervously, secretly reaching for the shovel at his feet, ready to strike.
Suddenly, an axe appeared right before his nose, its cold blade gleaming.
"Go on. Carry Yuxiu out and put her in the pit."
Sweat poured down Old Wu’s face. He had no choice but to drop the shovel. As he approached the large red suitcase, his legs turned to jelly.
Daring not look at the corpse inside, he closed his eyes and, with trembling hands, lifted Yuxiu’s body and placed it into the pit.
The intense stench of blood was so overwhelming that Old Wu didn't even dare to take a full breath. Just as he turned to climb out of the deep pit, he found the thin man blocking his path.
"Hmph, trying to leave?"
"Brother, please, have some mercy. I've done everything you asked. Just let me go, please."
Old Wu’s heart sank; he feared this man intended to silence him permanently.
"Now that you've reached this point, do you really think I would let you leave?"
The thin man’s tone was drifting and uncertain, as if he were speaking to Old Wu, or perhaps to himself.
Sure enough, he never intended to let him go.
As a man, Old Wu still possessed a shred of spirit. If that was the case, he would fight to the death; either way, he was a dead man.
Just as he was about to lash out, the thin man looked past him and smiled slightly.
"Yuxiu, why have you come out again?"
Old Wu turned around and, "Oh my God!"
His legs gave way, and he collapsed into the pit, unable to stand for a long time.
Yuxiu stood there with disheveled hair, her remaining eye fixed intently on the thin man.
The thin man did not seem surprised by the appearance of Yuxiu’s ghost; he was remarkably calm.
"Yuxiu, I told you I would be with you forever, but not now. Be a good girl, lie here, and wait for me to return, all right?"
"What is going on here?"
Cui Yue was utterly baffled. What exactly was the relationship between this thin man and Yuxiu?
Suddenly, a tear of blood slid silently down Yuxiu’s cheek. Looking at the thin man before her, she began to sob uncontrollably.
"Teacher Liu, you... please don't leave."
Her voice was low, hoarse, and eerie—a ghostly sound.
"Be a good girl, Yuxiu. Once Teacher finishes his task, I will come to pick you up, okay?"
Cui Yue felt a chill run down his spine. This hypocritical beast was actually a teacher? It was even more atrocious that he had preyed upon his own student—a disgrace to humanity and the teaching profession.
Pick her up? With what?
Cui Yue felt more and more that the thin man before him was no longer a normal person; he had transcended the boundaries of humanity.
"Teacher, you cannot leave me behind. Wherever you go, I want to go. We can never be separated, not for all our lifetimes."
Yuxiu reached out with her mangled hand, slowly floating toward him, wanting to embrace her lover once more.
The thin man’s expression suddenly changed; his face twisted with anger, and his tone grew harsh and accusatory.
"Yuxiu, wait until I have completed the Great Cause of the Main God and brought blessings to all living beings. I will naturally come to take you with me to ascend to the Heavenly Kingdom, where we shall share eternal peace."
Yuxiu stood frozen in place, her hand hanging in mid-air.
"Teacher, ever since you walked into our classroom in the second year of high school, my heart has raced. Later, when I gathered the courage to write you that letter, I knew you were my whole world. Without you, my suffering is beyond words."
The thin man stood still, seemingly lost in memory, but he remained silent.
Hearing this, Cui Yue was even more confused. How could this man, who had appeared to be a respectable teacher, turn against a student who admired him? And what was this "Main God" he spoke of? "Heavenly Kingdom"? What on earth did he mean?
For now, he decided to wait and see what kind of entanglement lay beneath it all.
"That year, when I first arrived at our town's high school, you..."
The thin man muttered to himself, his thoughts pulled back to that time.
Liu Mengran was a university graduate who had been assigned to teach Chinese in Xingfeng Town immediately after graduation, full of youthful idealism.
The first day he walked into the classroom, Liu Mengran had been nervous, his palms sweating. Facing dozens of students just a few years younger than himself, he had felt a bit flustered.
However, thanks to thorough preparation, he felt more grounded once he stepped onto the podium. Before long, he found his rhythm, and the simple lesson on classical poetry was met with thunderous applause.
As time passed, according to the school board's arrangement, he became the homeroom teacher for Yuxiu’s class, responsible for their studies and daily lives.
Soon, he realized that Yuxiu’s feelings for him had transcended the bounds of a normal teacher-student relationship. At first, he feigned ignorance, but later, after receiving her letters, he had to write back to politely decline, urging her to focus on her studies. Who knew that their correspondence would continue, eventually blossoming into an inseparable, forbidden romance?
Finally, the two crossed the line between teacher and student, and secretly became lovers...
"Teacher Liu, will you stay with me? Will you stay with Yuxiu?"
Yuxiu looked at her teacher with tear-filled, bloody eyes, pleading earnestly.
The thin man suddenly snapped out of his reverie. The slight warmth he had shown vanished instantly, and his expression returned to cold, obsessive indifference.
"Not now! I must complete the task entrusted to me by the Main God!"
The thin man turned and grabbed a fuel canister from the car, and without a word, began dousing the pit with gasoline.
As soon as Old Wu looked up, he was drenched in gasoline; the pungent fumes made it impossible to breathe.
He quickly covered his nose and mouth with his sleeve and retreated to the side.
This was bad! The thin man intended to burn the corpse and make Old Wu a scapegoat to be cremated along with it.
The pit Old Wu had dug with his own hands would be his burial place alongside the girl.
In this life-or-death moment, Old Wu would not sit still and wait to die. He grabbed the shovel at his feet and leaped upward.
A cold smirk played on the thin man’s lips, as if he had already anticipated Old Wu’s final act of resistance.
He tossed the empty canister into the pit with his left hand, while the axe in his right hand flashed with a cold light as he brought it down.
