Lin An gazed around in awe at the surroundings. Truly, the Veiling Heaven Realm lived up to its name—not only was the combat power here astonishing, but the environment was also beyond compare. Although the Fighting Break Realm held many unexpected scenes, none could rival the ethereal beauty of the Lingxu Cave Heaven, which resembled a celestial paradise.

Soon after, Lin An and the other two were assigned under the tutelage of Elder Wu Qingfeng, who would serve as their mentor in the initial stages of cultivation.

Wu Qingfeng was able to clearly answer all the questions posed by Ye Fan and Pang Bo.

In the brief span of time, both Ye Fan and Pang Bo made remarkably rapid progress.

Time slipped by swiftly. More than a month had passed since Lin An and the others entered the Veiling Heaven Realm. During this period, Lin An refrained from making any bold moves. His strength was considered formidable in the Fighting Break Realm, but in this world where combat prowess nearly touched the heavens, there were likely many who could easily kill him.

For those first stepping onto the path of immortality, laying a solid foundation was paramount; only then could they aspire to ascend higher. Elder Wu Qingfeng presented a foundational scripture reputed to be the strongest in existence—the “Dao Sutra.”

Though Wu Qingfeng knew Lin An had not opened the Sea of Bitterness, he made no effort to exclude Lin An and Ye Fan when imparting the teachings or presenting the Dao Sutra.

Lin An studied the Dao Sutra thoroughly and discovered that, despite not having opened the Sea of Bitterness himself, he could still cultivate it. Each time he practiced, he would enter a state akin to enlightenment, a mysterious experience even Wu Qingfeng struggled to comprehend.

Lin An also reaped other benefits. The various foods in the Veiling Heaven Realm contained terrifying energies that accelerated cultivation remarkably. Within a month, Lin An successfully broke through to the One-Star Dou Zun realm.

“You truly cannot deny that Brother Lin An’s culinary skills are unparalleled. Had he not come to this bizarre world, he would undoubtedly be a renowned master chef on Earth!” Pang Bo said, tearing a large chunk of meat from a chicken leg larger than his arm, exuding vigor. After a few bites, he swallowed the meat and drank a generous gulp of fine wine.

“Indeed, Lin An’s cooking has eased my homesickness for Earth. After all, Pang Bo and I could never replicate such authentic dishes,” Ye Fan said with a smile.

All the foods here brimmed with potent energy. Combined with spiritual herbs, the meals they cooked filled the air with enticing aromas that spread for miles. Many young disciples had heard of the culinary god under Elder Wu Qingfeng’s command. Even senior brothers who practiced fasting for long periods occasionally came here to indulge their cravings.

Of course, they did not come empty-handed, often bringing Lin An meat from fierce beasts, spiritual herbs, and pills useful for cultivation at their current stage.

The pills were naturally entrusted to Pang Bo for his cultivation, while Lin An carefully stored the spiritual herbs. He planned to retrieve all of them once Elder Han, the Treasure-Seeking Daoist, developed intentions toward Ye Fan and the others, to assist Ye Fan in opening the Sea of Bitterness.

After this extended period together, Lin An successfully revealed his true identity to Ye Fan and facilitated his induction into the Court of Yama, where Ye Fan became the second-in-command among the three top leaders.

After all, if Ye Fan and Pang Bo, at their weakest, could not join the Court of Yama, it would be even less likely once they truly matured.

Because of this, Ye Fan and Pang Bo were emboldened and rarely provoked by anyone.

Meanwhile, when Ye Fan assumed the top position, Lin An unexpectedly acquired the Shared Constitution, meaning he now possessed the Ancient Archaic Saint Physique, shared with Ye Fan. Lin An’s strength would mirror Ye Fan’s—however powerful Ye Fan became, Lin An would be equally formidable.

With his own strength unaffected, Lin An felt confident that he would grow even stronger in the future.

He eagerly anticipated the day Ye Fan successfully opened the Sea of Bitterness, imagining how powerful his own body would become and the corresponding amplification he would receive.

When Elder Wu Qingfeng informed them that the three would descend the mountain to cultivate at Lingxu Cliff, they reluctantly took their leave.

Though they had only lived here for a month, Ye Fan and Pang Bo, now somewhat accustomed to this life, felt reluctant to part.

“The path of immortality is fraught with peril. Only those with steadfast will and perseverance can achieve greatness,” the elder said before gracefully departing.

Lingxu Cave Heaven was one of six blessed cave heavens in the Yan region. Though unable to rival the famous great sects, the sect housed nearly a thousand cultivators, with several hundred young disciples.

At dawn, golden light bathed the cliffs, dazzling and radiant.

Lingxu Cliff was a sheer precipice composed of a dozen low stone cliffs, separated by gaps and not connected. Each cliff rose only about seventy or eighty meters.

In the early morning, many young disciples gathered below. Their cultivation levels varied, so they chose different cliffs to listen to Dao teachings appropriate for their current stage.

Though somewhat bored, Ye Fan and Pang Bo persisted daily, gaining notable insights.

Lin An knew these teachings were useless to him, so he did not accompany them.

After all, both of them understood that Lin An had yet to open the Sea of Bitterness, a fact even Elder Wu Qingfeng could not explain, so they did not pressure him to join.

Lin An enjoyed his leisure, and the Lingxu Cave Heaven disciples did not trouble him. Some even occasionally gifted him the corpses of slain monstrous beasts.

As for Ye Fan, though he had yet to open the Sea of Bitterness, the essence within him was incredibly dense, and his body had been immensely strengthened. He could easily defeat some disciples who had succeeded in opening their Seas of Bitterness. Even Lin An could clearly sense the enhancement in his own body.

Such a powerful improvement at this early stage foreshadowed even greater strength once Ye Fan fully opened his Sea of Bitterness. Lin An eagerly looked forward to witnessing the extent of Ye Fan’s corporeal might.

With these thoughts, Lin An cheerfully prepared the recently delivered meat from a saber-tooth tiger-like beast.

“This is unfortunate. I never expected that the elders within the Cave Heaven would be targeting the two of us,” Pang Bo said grimly upon their return.

“I’ve already been designated as a seedling of immortality by Elder Wu Qingfeng, but you and Lin An are different. Elder Han may very well have his sights set on Ye Fan and Lin An,” he continued, cursing under his breath.

“Don’t worry. Now all we can do is take it one step at a time. If things become untenable, Lin An and I will have to leave Lingxu Cave Heaven temporarily,” Ye Fan said helplessly, surprised that the divine fruit had brought them such deadly trouble.

“If you two leave Lingxu Cave Heaven, I’ll go with you. I have no interest in this lousy place!” Pang Bo declared.

“Don’t be hasty. This might not be a disaster for Ye Fan but a blessing. Perhaps this opportunity will help him successfully open the Sea of Bitterness,” Lin An said, his eyes brightening upon hearing Elder Han had finally focused on them. It felt as if they had long been plotting against Elder Han.
