Chapter 133: Ancient Dragon Island
Lin An was naturally unaware of the events involving Karl the Death God, the Demon Queen Morgana, and Holy Keisha. Even if he had known, with his current abilities, there would likely have been little he could do. After all, he did not possess the so-called "god bodies" found in the Super Seminary plane. God bodies are mutually reinforcing and restraining; the fact that his disciples could slay god-tier warriors with a single sword strike was not solely due to the Sword Control Technique he had taught them—the power harnessed by their own physical constitutions played a significant part as well. If the Sword Control Technique alone were enough to kill them, then these so-called god-body warriors would be rather cheap.
A fortnight passed in the blink of an eye. Tianhe City had begun its post-war reconstruction, and order was gradually being restored to everyone’s lives.
"It seems that collecting enough soul points to upgrade here in the Super Seminary plane is clearly an impossibility," Lin An mused. It was unrealistic to expect the Taotie Legion to launch another major offensive in such a short time, and since the majority of the time he was allotted in this plane had already elapsed, he would soon be returning to the Battle Through the Heavens plane. Still, he could not say he had come away empty-handed; thanks to the Battle of Tianhe, he had gained a massive quantity of soul points. Once back in the other plane, he would be able to gather enough points in record time.
He had abandoned the idea of establishing a City God Temple here. Given the many similarities to his previous locations, building a temple here would certainly not go as smoothly as it had in other planes. What surprised him most was that as his departure drew near, Keisha had yet to appear. According to his knowledge, she should have arrived at the Juxia ship long ago. Not only was she missing, but no other angels had been spotted, nor had he seen any trace of Morgana on Earth.
"Forget it. Such matters are beyond my control now."
A few days before his departure, Lin An resigned from his position as an instructor at the Super Seminary and checked into a hotel to wait quietly for the time to come.
...
Inhaling the spiritual energy flowing through the air, Lin An let out a long breath. He had grown accustomed to both the modern life and his days in the Battle Through the Heavens plane. His return landed him not far from the Misty Cloud Sect, and he reached it shortly thereafter. News of his return quickly spread throughout the sect.
"How is Zi Yan?" Lin An asked.
"Zi Yan has finished her secluded cultivation. I expect you'll be quite shocked when you see her!" Nalan Yanran said with a smile.
Lin An chuckled, not taking her words to heart. She had simply grown up; what could be so strange about that?
"Brother Lin An, you’re finally back!" A lovely voice rang out. Lin An turned his head and nearly had a nosebleed.
He had known that given Zi Yan’s bloodline and her frightening potential since childhood, she would inevitably grow into a peerless beauty. He had guessed the beginning, but not the ending. Zi Yan’s figure had developed in such an exaggerated fashion that her form-fitting clothes could barely contain her.
"I've grown up, and it feels so strange. I really miss the feeling of being little!" She shrugged with a look of disdain, the movement causing her cleavage to sway, leaving many of the Misty Cloud Sect’s disciples unable to hold their composure; some of the more hot-blooded youths began to bleed from their noses on the spot.
Lin An wondered if something had gone wrong; it seemed impossible for Zi Yan to have grown so much. Nalan Yanran, seemingly having anticipated his reaction, tapped him on the head with a look of dissatisfaction, prompting Lin An to finally avert his gaze.
Although Zi Yan had grown up, her mental state seemed to remain at the level of when they had first met. Unaware of her own lethal charm, she acted just as she had in her youth, clinging to Lin An’s back. Had Nalan Yanran not pulled her aside, Lin An would surely have made a fool of himself.
"My strength has broken through to the three-star Dou Zun realm. With my powerful bloodline, I suspect I could face a nine-star Dou Zun without much trouble," Zi Yan reported.
Lin An was astonished. He hadn't expected her strength to soar to such heights in such a short time. She was truly favored by the heavens.
"In that case, we have work to do," Lin An said with a smile.
"What is your plan?" Nalan Yanran asked.
"In a few days, we will depart for the Central Plains, return to the Void Dragon tribe, and ensure Zi Yan becomes their queen," Lin An declared.
"But with only our limited force, surely we have no chance of success against the entire Void Dragon tribe?"
"We couldn't do it alone, but Zi Yan’s parents left behind a loyal faction. Once Zi Yan demonstrates her bloodline and her formidable strength, they will likely submit to her as their queen immediately," Lin An said with great certainty. In the original story, it was exactly that faction that had discovered her and brought her back to the tribe, leading to everything that followed.
"I see!" Nalan Yanran nodded. With external assistance, they certainly had a chance. Zi Yan was eager to try; she would do anything if it meant helping Lin An.
Three days later, Lin An, accompanied by Zi Yan, Yao Chen, Yun Shan, and other experts, set off for the Central Plains. After ten days of travel, they finally reached the borders of the region. This was the true heart of the Dou Qi Continent, where the Eight Ancient Clans and the Beast tribes resided. Everything before this had been mere child's play; the real battle was only just beginning.
Zi Yan possessed the powerful aura of the Void Dragon tribe, and as soon as they arrived in the Central Plains, they were tracked down by members of her people who recognized her identity.
Inside the Dragon Island's spatial rift lay a strange passage filled with a faint silver light, stretching toward an unknown end. Lin An and the others flew rapidly through it. Hei Qing was visibly excited; he had not expected the fluctuations of the Void Dragon bloodline he had sensed earlier to be real. Upon seeing Zi Yan, he was deeply shaken, for he realized with horror that the dragon pressure radiating from her was so intense he could barely resist it. In her presence, he could not even conceive of the idea of defiance. Not even the legendary Dragon Emperor had possessed such an effect. Though he did not know how she achieved this, Hei Qing knew that the Void Dragon tribe finally had hope.
