Chapter 120: Super God Academy
Successfully claiming the Seaheart Flame as his own unique fire, Lin An’s cultivation level also rose to the rank of Five-Star Dou Zong.
In the following days, Lin An truly did as he said, traveling leisurely through the Gamma Empire and nearby realms with only Nalan Yanran by his side. Though they encountered some troubles along the way, Lin An handled them with ease.
Notably, Lin An observed that the number of Soul Points was rapidly increasing. By now, it had nearly reached five million, with the breakthrough to ten million not far off.
This was indeed good news.
Time flew happily, and when Lin An and Nalan Yanran returned to the Yunlan Sect, it was almost time for Lin An to move on to the next dimension.
Before leaving, Lin An, unwilling to leave matters to chance, used Soul Points to enhance the Immortal Slayer Sword Formation several times over. Now, even a Six-Star Dou Sheng would be trapped within it.
At the same time, he purchased a peculiar aura from the Multiverse Mall: the Invincible Talent.
[Invincible Talent: Within a designated area, the user is invincible regardless of the opponent, up to a maximum of Nine-Star Dou Sheng.]
Without hesitation, he bestowed this talent upon the Flame Emperor.
Now, the only one left to guard the Yunlan Sect without venturing elsewhere was the Flame Emperor himself.
The only drawback of this Invincible Talent was its limited range—about half a basketball court. To instantly defeat a Nine-Star Dou Sheng, the enemy had to be lured within this area.
Still, something was better than nothing.
With everything settled, Lin An departed the Yunlan Sect once more.
[Preparing to teleport to a random dimension. Selected dimension: Super God Academy!]
As Lin An traversed, information about the destination flooded his mind. Unexpectedly, it was the Super God Academy.
On the surface, this world resembled the Earth Lin An had come from, but in truth, it was quite different.
This world boasted brilliant starry civilizations, demons, angels...
There was no time to ponder further. Once Lin An stabilized his body, he found himself standing at a secluded alleyway.
“Hmmm, a familiar scent.”
Accustomed to the air of fantasy worlds, returning suddenly to an industrialized modern city made Lin An instantly aware of the difference.
“Where is this place?” Lin An asked curiously.
“This is Juxia City. Brother, have you lost your memory?” came a reply from behind him just as he finished speaking.
“Oh, so this is Juxia City. Thanks for letting me know!” Lin An turned in surprise.
But what he saw astonished him—a group of thugs wielding dangerous knives looked at him as if he were a lamb to the slaughter.
“Brother, your outfit’s pretty nice. And these jewels decorating you—even a mere mortal like me can tell they’re valuable. How about you take off your clothes for us, and we’ll let you go?” the gang leader said.
Lin An glanced at his clothes. Indeed, in this modern city, his attire was quite strange. Since girls liked sparkling things, Nalan Yanran had chosen for him garments inlaid with precious gems, especially the finest emeralds.
Any one of these, if auctioned in the Super God Academy dimension, would fetch a sky-high price.
“Still standing there like a fool? Want us to teach you a lesson?” The leader, misreading Lin An’s hesitation as fear, grew bolder.
He brandished a dagger, flicking it close to Lin An’s face.
“You're the first person to dare hold a knife so close to me!” Lin An laughed.
Despite his words, the dozen or so thugs suddenly felt a chill down their spines, as if plunging into an icy abyss.
“What the hell? Why do I suddenly feel so cold in the middle of summer?” one of the thugs voiced what everyone else was thinking.
“Who are you people? What are you doing here?”
At that moment, a young but capable woman appeared. She looked about Lin An’s age.
“Damn, it’s Kirin again!” The thugs groaned. Clearly, they were terrified of her.
As the gang leader prepared to flee, he didn’t forget to snatch the largest emerald from Lin An’s clothing.
However, Lin An would never watch his clothes be torn without resistance.
Before the man’s hand even touched him, Lin An grabbed it firmly.
“This is a lesson for you. Next time you rob someone, keep your eyes open!”
Just as Lin An was about to crush the man’s hand, Kirin stepped forward and skillfully cuffed the thug.
“Let’s see where you can run now—after all the times you’ve escaped before!”
Zhang Yang looked at Kirin with gratitude; he had a premonition that without her intervention, his entire arm would have been ruined.
“And you, come with me to make a statement!”
Just as Lin An was about to leave, Kirin unexpectedly called him along.
Originally intending to depart, Lin An suddenly realized Kirin was still a police officer. Could this mean the Super God Academy storyline hadn’t yet begun?
If so, spending half a year as a nobody there might be a fine choice.
The only headache was that Lin An had no ID on him.
“What? You don’t even have an ID card?” Kirin couldn’t believe it. Though Lin An’s clothes were strange, it was clear he came from a wealthy or noble background. How could he be without identification?
“I really don’t have one. Actually, my past is tragic...” Lin An wept as he fabricated a story of being trafficked to the mountains in childhood, enduring many hardships, and only recently escaping to appear in Juxia City.
“That does complicate things. You don’t seem like a bad person, so I’ll try to help you apply for an ID. Without one here, you can’t do much!” Though Kirin doubted his story, after uploading his photo to the database, no matching identity was found, lending some credibility to his tale.
“Thank you very much, Officer Kirin!” Lin An smiled.
“Kirin, aren’t you supposed to report to Super God Academy in a few days? Why are you still on patrol?” someone asked her.
Hearing Kirin was soon going to the Super God Academy, Lin An roughly calculated the timeline. The invasion of Earth was still some time away.
