Chapter 103: Is That All?
Lin An did not look at the speaker but instead turned his gaze toward Qian Renxue.
Qian Renxue gave a helpless smile. "This is a competition between Spirit Master academies, and this time, the outcome will affect my future. I must secure first place, so reluctantly, I had no choice but to come to you."
"Your Highness, I think the few of us here are enough for this Spirit Master competition. Suddenly bringing this person along clearly shows a lack of trust in us!" Huang Yixiao was deeply dissatisfied. After all, they were all prodigies from the Spirit Master academy, with only a handful capable of matching their strength. Now, Qian Renxue had unexpectedly brought in this one individual, as if he alone could replace them all. How could they feel at ease with that?
"I understand your displeasure, but I can tell you clearly—you are indeed no match for Lin An. Even if all five of you attack together, you probably won’t stand a chance against him."
Qian Renxue did not spare the few young and proud men before her, despite their loyalty. Though truthful, her words stoked their resentment, especially when she praised Lin An so highly.
"In that case, I’d very much like to see what kind of strength this so-called genius Spirit Master the prince speaks of actually possesses!" Huang Yixiao stared coldly at Lin An, his eyes filled with icy contempt.
Before Lin An could respond, his Martial Soul manifested behind him—a towering structure resembling a small mountain, pitch black as if abandoned for ages.
At first glance, Lin An felt a pang of awe. On Douluo Continent, truly anything could become a Martial Soul! Even a small mountain peak could serve as one. It no longer seemed strange to encounter even stranger Martial Souls.
Huang Yixiao noticed the mockery in Lin An’s eyes. He knew his own Martial Soul was uncommon; many had sneered upon first seeing it. Yet in the end, he always used his greatest power to slap the faces of those who belittled him.
"It seems refusing is impossible," Lin An said with some helplessness.
These men were, after all, Qian Renxue’s allies and students from the Tian Dou Royal Spirit Master Academy. Killing them all would make things difficult for Qian Renxue.
"I can see you all harbor hostility toward me. Fine, you five attack together. Challenging me one by one is a waste of time—my time is precious."
Lin An looked calmly at the disgruntled group and spoke lightly.
"I knew this scene would unfold today," Qian Renxue chuckled softly.
Originally, the men thought attacking as one would avoid suspicion, but seeing Qian Renxue’s changed demeanor before Lin An—the difference was like night and day—they began to burn with anger.
"Since it’s five of us against you alone, then let’s be fair: if you can withstand us for ten minutes without defeat, we’ll admit defeat!" Huang Yixiao said, maintaining his composure and hoping to impress Qian Renxue.
"Whatever," Lin An replied impatiently.
With all five joining forces, what fairness was there to consider?
This was Qian Renxue’s private residence, equipped with a spacious training ground. Soon, they all arrived there.
"Just so you know, we are a complete team at Tian Dou Royal Academy. Our coordination is flawless; our strength is incomparable to that of a single individual," Huang Yixiao warned.
"Enough nonsense. Attack together!" Lin An snapped.
"Hmph. You’ll be begging for mercy soon enough!" Huang Yixiao sneered as all five summoned their Martial Souls.
They were a well-coordinated Spirit Master team, their teamwork seamless. Often, a mere instinctive motion revealed exactly what a teammate needed.
Shi Wenjing was the only woman in the team and served as a support-type Spirit Master. Her Martial Soul was a precious vial containing mysterious droplets that enhanced teammates’ overall strength, healed injuries, and removed negative effects.
She launched the first move. Her vial radiated divine light, transforming into a mist that hovered above her teammates. Each droplet infused with spiritual energy fell on them, noticeably boosting their condition.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Zhang Yishan, a control-type Spirit Master, summoned his Martial Soul—a purple wisteria vine imbued with poison. The vines rapidly spread through the air, surrounding Lin An with countless purple tendrils.
The vines bore sharp thorns. Even a slight touch would slash the skin and inject poison, quickly paralyzing the victim’s entire body.
"You can still admit defeat now. If all five of us strike together, your life might end here. It won’t be worth it," Huang Yixiao warned. He wasn’t eager to kill Lin An but preferred to see him disgraced and utterly disappointing Qian Renxue.
As for killing him, once Qian Renxue’s protection vanished, eliminating an ordinary Spirit Master like Lin An would be a simple task.
"If you don’t act soon, my patience will run out, and I’ll strike first!" Lin An’s impatience grew.
At a time like this, with so much needless talk, these men’s arrogance was truly overwhelming.
"Refusing the toast only to drink the penalty wine—if that’s the case, I’ll grant your wish!" Lin An declared.
His Martial Soul rapidly grew, becoming a mountain-sized presence looming above him.
"My Spirit Art is straightforward: increasing the weight and density of my Thousand Mountain. So far, no one has pierced my Martial Soul!"
"First Spirit Art: Tenfold Gravity Amplification!"
"Second Spirit Art: Enhanced Domain!"
"Third Spirit Art: Triple Mountain!"
Huang Yixiao unleashed three Spirit Arts in succession, aiming to defeat Lin An instantly and prove to Qian Renxue that he was worthless.
To be honest, even Lin An had never heard of such a Martial Soul. What astonished him most was Huang Yixiao’s ability to wield this strange Martial Soul with formidable power.
If it were any other Spirit Master, they might truly be at a loss against such an assault. But unfortunately for them… their opponent was Lin An, someone they were doomed never to defeat.
"Is that all?" Lin An sneered coldly.
